Field Service Technician (Biotek)

Position Description:
Field Service Calibration Technician requires either education in the field calibration field or 1+ year of experience in calibration. These technicians will typically have the ability to calibrate one of four disciplines (i.e. pipettes, scales/balances, centrifuges, or various temperature devices).

A Field Service Calibration Technician will be expected to perform the following; other duties may be assigned;

• Equipment includes: pipettes, bottle top dispensers, scales, balances, centrifuges, and temperature calibrations,
• Must be able to perform these functions within a laboratory setting and/or supervised customer on-site
• Calibration Technician to perform on site calibration, certification and maintenance services on specific lab equipment at client/customer locations.
• Maintain calibration standards
• Work with other technicians within the lab to learn calibration fundamentals which can include pipettes, scales/balances, centrifuges, bottle top dispensers, or various temperature devices).

Travel: 50-75%

• Mixture of local day trips, overnights and out of state

Primary Objectives:

• Develop skills necessary to perform calibrations independently
• Learn and develop fundamental skills necessary to calibration techniques and processes

To be considered for a Field Service Calibration Technician position, the following knowledge, skills and abilities are required:

• Ability to learn new skills in regard to calibration and calibration processes
• Familiarity with basic tools
• Basic mathematical skills
• Proficiency with office computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Basic organizational and time management skills

Experience:

• Previous labratory experience preferred, but not required.

• Occasionally will be required to lift upwards of 75lbs
• While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle tools and equipment
