Located in the Phoenix Ariz. suburb of Gilbert the Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is a 198-bed not-for profit hospital with more than 1300 employees and almost 900 doctors on staff representing all major specialties. In 2014 Phoenix Children’s Hospital launched a 22-bed pediatric unit inside the hospital. Mercy Gilbert opened in 2006 and has been a vital part of the growing community. Responsibilities

OTE:
The primary service base is at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center and supports our Southwest Division hospital accounts

Position Summary:

This position provides specialized repair (radiology, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, etc.) and maintenance services to diagnostic imaging equipment and biomedical equipment.
Principle Duties and Accountabilities:
  • May also provide repair and maintenance of general biomedical equipment as secondary responsibility or as assigned.
  • Provides appropriate service cost history to the Account Manager with an emphasis on Contract Vs. Time and Material contrast for the continual reduction of service expense.
  • Employee functions as a leader in the Clinical Engineering department, providing oversight and assistance to FSS, for the efficient and cost effective repair and maintenance of imaging equipment.
  • Assists in the ordering of parts and supplies necessary for the servicing of Diagnostic Imaging and Biomedical equipment.
  • Effectively handles all service emergencies and necessary communications with Vendor, Department, and Clinical Engineering Account Manager.
  • Utilizes training opportunities to significantly reduce contract dependency for the same equipment.
  • In addition to duties of Field Service Specialist I, performs repair and maintenance on intermediate imaging equipment, such as Digital Radiography units, basic CT, CT Sim, basic oncology and Vascular/Specials systems more than 60% of the time.
  • Provides input to the Account Manager regarding new service opportunities within a location serviced by the Clinical Engineering Division.
  • Is capable of providing coverage and support for Account Manager during manager’s absence.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Must be familiar with MS Office Suite and internet based applications
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Must have the ability to repair and maintain a wide variety of imaging equipment
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in the standardized situations
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience servicing medical imaging equipment such as General X-Ray (Rad, including but not limited to Rad Rooms, Portables and C-Arms)
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Reliable transportation required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES) certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Pay Range
$35.28 - $51.16 /hour
