Job Title: Field Marketing Specialist
Region: Must be based in Sacramento MSA and be a road warrior, we have some accounts that may be up to 3.5 hours away in the Central Valley Region that need to be serviced weekly or bi-weekly.
Salary Range: $70k-$75k + bonus based on performance
Position Summary: American Weed Co. is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Field Marketing Specialist (FMS) who is passionate about our mission to legalize weed for veterans nationwide, candidate must be dedicated to promoting our brand, mission and delivering exceptional experiences to all individuals who come into contact with our products.
The FMS will engage with consumers, community influencers, businesses, budtenders, dispensary managers, and more within the assigned territory and will work directly with our third party sales agency.
Leveraging the power of storytelling and strategic sample distribution, the Field Marketing Specialist will boost brand awareness, drive product trials, track in and out of stock inventory, and support sell-through for our retail partners.
This is a full-time position with an average of 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
- Influencer and Budtender Programs: Contribute to the execution of influencer and Budtender gifting initiatives to enhance brand engagement.
- Brand Activation: Execute a variety of activations to increase brand awareness and promote American Weed Co. products. Activities include in-store staff trainings, dispensary events, community gatherings, lifestyle pop-ups, curated brand events, and festival participation.
- Effective Communication: Articulate brand talking points clearly to consumers and staff, ensuring the message is effectively conveyed.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other duties assigned by the Marketing Director to support brand objectives.
- Retail Support: Assist with retail audits and merchandising tasks in the assigned territory, visiting an average of 15 stores weekly.
- Sales Support: Provide assistance with sales leads as required, contributing to the overall growth of the brand.
- Community and Dispensary Partnerships: Identify potential leads for community events and dispensary partnerships, and collaborate with the market manager to foster relationships.
- Reporting and Compliance: Complete end-of-shift reports, expense reports (if applicable), and photo submissions accurately and promptly.
- Training and Meetings: Attend initial and ongoing monthly product training sessions, team meetings, and client training sessions.
- Storage and Asset Management: Maintain organization and cleanliness of storage space, product inventory, and marketing assets.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Organizational Skills: Must be EXTREMELY organized and disciplined.
- Outgoing Personality: Friendly, enthusiastic, and energetic demeanor.
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- Possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to travel within the assigned territory for product seedings, demos, events, and other duties.
- Availability: Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
- Physical Ability: Must be capable of frequently lifting and/or moving items.
- Interest or experience in field marketing, demonstrations, sales, and the cannabis or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is highly desirable.
- Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and hygiene.
- Self-Sufficiency: Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Preferred minimum of 2 years equivalent work experience or some college education.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to complete end-of-shift recap forms in CRM (Hubspot) with detailed information promptly.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Natural problem-solving ability and strong people skills.
- Event Planning Experience: Familiarity with organizing and planning events.
- Physical Requirements: Capable of standing and communicating for an entire shift.
- Interpersonal Skills: Comfortable interacting with management, clients, and consumers in various settings.
- Reside within the territory - Sacramento, Stockton or Modesto.
