QUALIFICATIONS: - 3-5 years of current experience in row crops and prefer some experience working with larger equipment- Good crop production background- Able to handle routine maintenance and general repair- Arc welding and fabrication skills a plus- Prefer some experience driving tractor/trailers- Must have a clean/good driving record to operate semi/tractor-trailer for grain hauling locally- Looking for individual that is motivated, long-term and career-minded with a passion for agriculture- Must be able to work independently and be trustworthy and responsible- Good attitude and dependable- Good communication skills and ability to work as a team player in a safe and productive manner- Must be a self-starter, easy going and able to get along with others JOB DESCRIPTION: Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a good Farm Assistant for this large northeast Colorado crops producer. Fourth generation producers who have continued the attention to detail that created the base that allowed them to grow and diversify the business over the last 20 years, 17 of those years after the death of their father. The business finds its roots and its primary identity in grain production (Wheat, Corn, Proso Millet) and implements its knowledge from this core into other diversified ag-businesses. This is a team endeavor where people are encouraged to think big and do things right. On this farm honest, driven, determined, people can be members of this farm team and operate new farming equipment of the largest scale. Spraying, spreading, planting, harvesting, hauling, in a sense be a member of the family farm. The work is seasonally demanding, homes near the farm are provided. Team member's family and kids can engage with the work within safety protocols and being home for lunch during the slower seasons is an option. The largest amount of time in this position will be operating equipment in the stewardship of the land and customers. This position requires its operators to be active in their stewardship, engaged with the task at hand and understanding how it connects to the larger picture, "a brain in the cab not a body in a seat." Experience operating equipment and driving semis is a plus but not a requirement, but being honest, disciplined, and ambitious for the greater good is required.Person needs to be able to handle routine maintenance and general repairs so to perform maintenance on equipment in the off-season, so it is ready to go before the next crop season. The primary responsibilities of the farm assistant is the operation of equipment used in planting thru harvesting of grain. The duties of the position vary with the seasons and the needs of the operation, so it is important this individual is willing to adapt to changing circumstances, is flexible and have a good attitude. Prefer a candidate with some grain handling experience, drying, storage, etc. and able to climb the grain bins would be a plus. Need someone who takes pride in what they do and are a self-motivated individual with a good agriculture background and solid character. Must be able to take direction, have a neat appearance, good work ethic, and a passion for farming. Should have good problem-solving skills, the handiness to find and build solutions when the need arises, able to handle multiple demands, be flexible, and able to adapt to last minute changes. Candidate also needs to be able to work and get along with others and be willing to help others when needed and to be a team player. Pay depends on the experience in row crop production.
