Family Lawyer Jobs

Our law firm is seeking a family attorney who can assist our clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including child custody, child abuse, and domestic violence. Jobseekers should be equally familiar with prenuptial agreements, divorce, alimony, child support, and real estate, and be able to effectively engage in oral debate and negotiation even in highly stressful and emotional situations. $200,000+ base

Responsibilities:

• Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed
• Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of cases
• Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action
• Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process
• Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge base of representing plaintiffs and defendants
• Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations
• Must have worked on family law issues for at least 1-2 years; handling of real estate also required
• 4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position
• Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association)

• May be a solo attorney, senior associate, or small practice group
• Experience at a legal firm working on family law matters for at least 7 years
