Faculty, Biology (Marine), Full-Time, Tenure-Track, Fall 2024

The biology department invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in environmental and marine biology to begin in September 2024. Teaching responsibilities may include introductory biology and non-major’s courses, a sophomore-level evolution or ecology course, and upper-level marine biology courses such as marine botany, oceanography, fish biology, aquaculture, etc. The ideal candidate will have expertise in marine biology/ecology as well as the ability to engage students in field experiences.

The biology department educates future scientists in general biology with the options to focus on Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Marine and Aquaculture, and Environmental Biology. In addition, the department provides general education for scientific reasoning as well as basic anatomy and physiology, microbiology, neuroanatomy for the nursing, athletic training, and occupational therapy departments.

Candidates are required to perform duties in accordance with the MSCA contract. Duties include teaching, advising, scholarship and contributions to continuously improve the department and university. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. The position is subject to available funding.
