FACILITIES MAINTENANCE WORKER - UNITED STATES ARMY, FORT MEADE

INTRODUCTION

Located at Ft. Meade, Maryland, the core working hours are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The hourly wage is $30.66 and is a non-exempt position. Employees are eligible for overtime pay. A valid driver's license, pre-employment background checks, and drug testing are required.

The Facilities Maintenance Worker performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical activities associated with the maintenance and repair of base facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs general building maintenance duties as required and services, inspects, and performs minor repairs of electrical and HVAC systems and motorized equipment.
• Maintains records of activities, including preventative maintenance services and service requests.
• Operates a variety of hand and power tools; works with various chemicals, including cleaning products, solvents, glues, etc.
• Work cooperatively and effectively with contractors, the public, and co-workers. Performs related work as required.
• Performs carpentry on buildings; repairs to tile and carpet as necessary; repairs on doors, windows, floors, gates, roofs, and ceilings; repairs, installs, and constructs furniture, shelves, cabinets, countertops, and other wood equipment and fixtures.

PHYSICAL TASKS

Performs a variety of physical tasks associated with the work of a Facilities Maintenance Worker, including sitting, standing with movement, walking, bending/stooping, crawling, climbing, reaching above shoulder, reaching below shoulder, reaching shoulder, crouching, kneeling, lifting, carrying, and pushing and pulling; repetitive hand and foot motion; hearing and vision abilities per the physical task analysis.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Must pass the required background and security clearance and have a working knowledge of MAXIMO or other CMMS software.
• Prior experience working on government contracts and working with persons with a disability preferred.
