Description

Scope of Position: Constructs wall panels, cabinets, and other components for tradeshow and museum exhibits. May also perform refurbishments and preps on existing property.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Applies basic construction methods for assembling common panels and framing members in museum and tradeshow exhibits.
• Reads and interprets all blueprints about the manufacturing and maintenance of museum and tradeshow exhibits.
• Sets up and operates a variety of woodworking machines and uses various hand tools to fabricate and repair museum and tradeshow exhibitry. Must be able to operate equipment such as saws, planes, drill presses, hand tools, etc. with little or no supervision according to all safety standards established by Exhibit Concepts.
• Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
• Applies general knowledge concerning common HPL lamination application procedures and techniques.
• Operates safely and knowledgeably all types of air tools, staple guns, and spray equipment.

Requirements

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience: One-year certificate from college or technical school; and seven (7) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

General Skills

• Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Windows 7 or greater, and familiarity with Microsoft Office 2010 including Word, Excel, & Outlook.
• Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Forklift driving is a requirement (ECI certification).

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
