Job Description
Who We Are


Firematic Supply Co. Inc., a well-established family owned business who has been serving those who protect us all for over 50 years! We are currently seeking an experienced, creative Fabricator, for our busy Shirley, NY Truck Shop.


What You'll Be Doing


  • Maintain clean work area and help with keeping the shop clean
  • Fabricate and install special projects
  • Fabricates variety of metal structures from oral direction, sketches and drawings
  • Operates safety equipment and use safe work habits.
  • MIG & TIG, Aluminum, stainless steel & mild steel from sheet metal to structural fabrication.
  • Cut and fit parts
  • Layout, position, align and secure parts prior to assembly


Requirements


WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:


To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a positive can-do attitude and be able to perform each essential duty in a satisfactory manner.


  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to make accurate measurement conversions
  • Able to weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions
  • Ability to perform professional looking and quality welds
  • Must have own tools (hand and air)
  • Follow blueprints and schematics
  • Ability to TIG aluminum, TIG stainless steel, MIG aluminum and MIG steel
  • Must be able to operate shear and brake, horizontal band saw, benchtop disc sander and other fabricating equipment.
  • Be able to work independently


This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday 7:30-4:00pm.
