Job Description

Overview:

TheSales Representativeposition is a commission only based position with a competitive commission structure. Potential commission of $100K-$120K. This position is responsible for the sale of the organization's products and to provide ongoing support to our distribution channel in the Atlantic Region. This territory includes Eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and Virginia.


The Sales Representative is to show customers new products,in person, securing orders, building relationships and managing situations that arise. The essential duties and responsibilities of the Sales Representative include; knowledge of the fabric and quilting industry. Account / Territory Management skills. Outside sales experience of a tangible product is a must as well as experience calling on Independent Retailers.


Requirements


Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Sales Representative:

  • Cold Calling skills and develop avenues to obtain new customers
  • Ability to use email and social media platforms for virtual sales meetings and or sales calls when needed to inform customers of new products / promotions
  • Maintain and keep all sales literature, company property and samples in a well-organized condition. Must be able to maneuver product suitcases, or other devices used for moving products, full of samples, to and from customer locations.
  • Keeps weekly itinerary/call reports via Google Calendar and update it daily regarding sales dollars written with the accounts
  • Attends trade shows, when requested
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
  • Attends scheduled monthly conference calls
  • High level interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Keeps informed of new products, competitive products and services and other general information of interest to customers
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Develops and increases sales revenue to meet assigned targets
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills


Education and/or Experience

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED required. Some college preferred
  • Experience: Three or more years of outside sales experience required


Other Skills

  • Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM
  • Functions well in a high paced and at times stressful environment
  • Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow Checker policies and procedures
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Self-motivated and driven
  • Familiarity with different sales techniques and pipeline management
  • Computer use competency


Working conditions:

The Sales Representative is expected to work during store business hours in the territory, physically calling on the accounts by walking through their door and meeting with owners and/or their employees. Additional time may be necessary for shows, maintaining samples, special events or assistance with customer’s needs. We expect you to be accessible via email or by phone during normal business hours. Depending on the region, the Sales Representative may encounter inclement weather.


Travel:

This position requires up to 75% travel. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight.


Physical requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone and in person. .
