Job Summary
Works with patients in established programs. This position is responsible for the development, monitoring and assessment of exercise prescriptions and protocols, educating patients and families about risk factor modification and providing instruction to patient regarding exercise therapy and use of equipment. Works effectively and cooperatively within the workplace. Location/Department specific tasks and competencies may apply. Salary Range: $27.36/hour to $43.74/hour DOE Skagit Regional Health offers a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision, 457b/401a (retirement), long term disability, and paid time off to all employees holding an FTE of 20 or more hours per week. Eligible employees also receive sick time pay.

Essential Functions
Coordinates patient care for all patients enrolled in Phase 1-3 Cardiac Rehab programs as well as Pulmonary Rehab. Obtains and reviews appropriate health history information, conducts physical assessment, and documents accurately and succinctly in patient record. Assesses body composition and metabolic capacity and educates patient/client on results as needed. Teaches patients in identified areas of need and selects appropriate educational resources and evaluates the learning. Develops appropriate individual treatment plans, assists patients in safe execution and progression of plan. Seeks out collaborative and creative opportunities for exercise programming. Conducts stress tests and vascular evaluations. Performs ECG interpretation and documents efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Participates in program development and actively markets Rehab programs to health care providers, insurers and the community. Assists with development and analysis of outcomes data. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to comply with emergency triage and transfer protocol. Maintains ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office (Outlook) and department specific software applications to perform work. Communicates effectively and cooperatively in the workplace. Actively contributes to the achievement of Quality Improvement and Lean Process Improvement activities. Completes all mandatory learning requirements in a timely manner. Maintains current licensure and/or certification as required. Attends and actively participates in all department, team and/or committee meetings. Complies with all Skagit Regional Health, department and location specific policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or health related field or 10 years of experience in stress testing required. Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology strongly preferred. Skagit Regional Health basic ECG course required within six (6) months of hire.

Experience/Training
Minimum one (1) year of experience in an outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation and/or clinical exercise physiology setting performing exercise training and health and wellness education with groups and individuals, preferred. Cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation internship preferred.

License/Certification
American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Clinical Exercise Physiologist Certification required within one (1) year of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) healthcare provider ACLS required within six (6) months of hire.

Other Qualifications
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required. Must be able to effectively utilize Microsoft Office applications to perform work. Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills required. Must be able to effectively prioritize workload amongst frequent interruptions with competing priorities. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Ability to perform blood pressures and rapid vitals assessment. Ability to coordinate work schedule with requirements of position (may include overtime and weekend work).
