About us

The Oregon Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (OCCAP) is an individual membership registered non-profit organization with approximately 150 members across the state. OCCAP is a state branch of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), and membership is required in both organizations. OCCAP works closely with the Oregon Psychiatric Physician’s Association (OPPA), and with other state and national organizations to help further the cause of mental well-being for Oregon children and families. OCCAP strives to create an inclusive and equitable environment where all voices are heard and respected. Our membership is comprised of psychiatric physicians from diverse settings, reflecting a range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. As professionals who serve some of the most vulnerable members of our state, we are committed to improving mental health care for minority populations and fostering equity in mental health treatment. We are committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.

Our work environment includes:

  • On-Site in Oregon one weekend per year for our annual conference
  • One 2 hour monthly Executive Committee meeting (virtual)
  • Flexible working hours
  • 10-40 hours per month billable hours (higher during event months)
  • Work-from-home days

  • Participate in planning and developing of member subcommittee meetings, learning opportunities, and social events.
  • Assist the Executive Committee in coordinating monthly EC meetings.

Membership and Communication

  • File government (state) corporate reports annually and maintain association records.

Compensation

Hourly compensation starting at $30/hour, ranging from approximately 4 to 40 hours a month. Salary is negotiable dependent on experience and skills.
