Job Description

Sisters GRO (GRO) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to raise, receive and distribute charitable scholarship funds, support the scholarship selection process and support graduate resource programs to help Sisters High School graduates obtain higher education or training.The organization is currently seeking an Executive Director. Marketing & Communications

  • Working jointly with board members, create, finalize and distribute constituent and donor communications including the annual report
  • Draft, finalize and issue press releases
  • Coordinate print advertising and promotional materials
  • Manage website & social media
  • Effectively promote GRO’s mission and accomplishments to donors, media and the community
  • Coordinate community relations & messaging


Operations – Programs, Services & Volunteers

  • With support from board members, plan and execute events including donor appreciation, senior celebration, donor and student trainings, etc.
  • Manage relations with donors to ensure donor retention and satisfaction with GRO’s services
  • Insert, update, and analyze date in Salesforce database
  • With support from board members, coordinate the scholarship application & selection processes
  • Work closely with the board of directors to ensure the highest quality programs and services are designed and delivered in alignment with GRO’s mission


Financial & Fundraising

  • Work jointly with board members to generate cash & in kind donation through sponsorships and to fulfill sponsor commitments
  • Work in coordination with the board to manage donor relations, ensure financial compliance for the organization and efficient management & distribution of GRO scholarship funds
  • Administer grants including support for grant applications, submissions, tracking and reporting
  • Work with Board Treasurer to ensure financial compliance, manage bookkeeping, budgeting, tax reporting, management of restricted donations and produce financial reports
  • Participate with board members to plan & execute fundraising activities
  • Oversight of receipt & disbursement of scholarship funds utilizing partner tech system


Board Liaison

  • Ensure an effective board of directors by providing support for monthly and annual board activities
  • Manage board documents including agendas, minutes, Conflict of Interest statements, policies, procedures, bylaws, etc.
  • Coordinate scheduling for board & committee meetings


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to use time efficiently without direct supervision
  • Detail-oriented and well organized; uses proven systems to plan and manage work activities
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite programs
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule throughout the year with a significant commitment of time around major events


Preferred Education and Experience

  • Four-year college education with three years or more of successful work experience in this or a related field
  • Prior experience in nonprofit management
  • Experience with Quickbooks and Salesforce or other financial and customer relations management systems
  • Experience with website development platforms such as Wix
  • Familiarity with social media including Instagram and Facebook


Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to walk, climb stairs, lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. A significant amount of lifting, walking and possibly long periods of standing may be required during events.

Work Environment

  • This job operates in an office environment, either home-based or located in a Sisters School District building. This is a hybrid position with flexible hours and does require in-person hours during the school year at least 1 or 2 days a week.This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a computer, phone, photocopier, and cell phone.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a part-time, year-round position with the majority of work taking place during the school year. Work hours and days are flexible throughout the year. Evening and weekend work will be required during events.


Travel

  • Travel to accomplish job responsibilities is primarily local.
