PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Executive Director of Facilities develops and executes the strategic plan for the department consistent with the strategic vision of the division’s Center of Excellence and property leadership as well as establishes the parameters that empower management with the authority to accomplish the duties of their assigned positions.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures compliance for all required health, safety, and environmental programs for the property. Ensures the physical plant meets all city/state/federal codes and safety standards.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested.
- Provides management guidance and technical direction in the resolution of problems associated with maintenance, facilities, and landscaping issues. Directs and manages accountability processes for division; ensures compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Mentors, coaches, and maintains effective communications will all division team members
- Provides leadership and direction in the execution and measurement of guest service standards within Facilities Operations to include the management of all technical trade classifications (Engineers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Laborers, Maintenance Warehouse, Gardeners, Drivers, Facilities Safety Systems Operators, etc.) consistent with the company’s core service standards, brand attributes, and established guidelines/standards.
- Directs and manages all functions performed within Facilities Operations. Works closely with department management to ensure the establishment of sound operational business practices that produce positive methods to ensure all projects/assignments produce quality results.
- Developments and monitors division operation budgets through the evaluation of projects and labor to remain within budgetary constraints, produce profitability, and meet targeted deadlines. Represents the property in collaboration with MGM Resorts Design & Development to successfully initiate, execute, and close out all property projects.
- Provides leadership for the division’s Human Resources responsibilities for assigned department(s) to include: creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning processes that encompass the company’s diversity commitment. Mentors and coaches the division staff in additional tasks/responsibilities to optimize advancement opportunities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Four (4) years of prior relevant experience.
- Bachelor degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
PREFERRED:
- Five (5) or more years or progressive experience working in a similar resort setting.
- Expertise in working in a union environment.
- Previous experience working within Facilities or building operations.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Driver’s License
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- In-depth knowledge of all disciplines within property operations to include all technical trades (Engineers, Electricians, Carpenters,
Painters, Laborers, Maintenance Warehouse, Gardeners, Drivers, etc.).
- Must have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
- Must be able to access all areas of the property and have the ability to attend company business in Las Vegas or other jurisdictions.
- Must have a pro-active management style that looks beyond problems and current practices to develop solutions to maximize the effectiveness of the department.
- Computer proficiency.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms.
- Possess understanding of general accounting principles to interpret statistical information.
- Understanding of safety systems.
- Strong leadership abilities, sound judgment, superior decision making and problem solving skills to effectively manage the department.
- Excellent organizational, analytical and project management skills, with particular attention to quality and detail.
