Executive Administrator - Colony Park
Job Summary:
To direct and administer the integrated activities of surgical, ambulatory, and educational operations at UMMC Colony Park. Responsible for the planning and development of new ambulatory sites of service at the Ridgeland campus. To collaborate with clinical, administrative, financial, and executive leadership of UMMC’s health system on site location operations. To ensure compliance with financial and strategically established objectives and continuous provision of quality and cost-effective services. To provide oversight and management of support services associated with clinical, financial, operational, educational, and strategic growth components of services and programs.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance or related field and ten (10) years of accomplished healthcare leadership experience in a large complex healthcare setting required.
Experience cannot be substituted for educational requirements.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) or The American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, growth strategies, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources. Knowledge of clinical operations in a large multi-specialty ambulatory care setting. Skill in forecasting and budget preparation, fiscal management and revenue cycle. Sound financial acumen with a high attention to detail. Ability to develop and implement cost control measures. Verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear direction. Ability to foster collaborative work environment. Ability to train, motivate, and supervise employees to work in a harmonious manner as a highly effective team. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and resolve complex issues. Ability to drive initiatives in a collaborative and timely manner with coordination from variety of constituencies, including Human Resources, Finance, Strategic Sourcing, Information Systems and others. Ultimately responsible for the overall success of Colony Park operations, including, but not limited to, achieving quality standards, customer service excellence and revenue targets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Works collaboratively with medical, clinical, and other staff to ensure efficient and effective patient care delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Advises executive leadership on strategic business development and key corporate planning issues; informs executive leadership of business activities, potential threats, and opportunities; makes informed recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Works with physician quality leadership on the development and implementation of quality programs and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinates, arranges, and approves physical space allocations, room utilization, facilities management, and resources for daily clinical ambulatory operations.
  • Conducts feasibility studies, monitors revenue and expenditure trends, and recommends measures to improve the cost-effectiveness of operations.

  • Develops and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures related to ambulatory operations and patient access at Colony Park; monitors and evaluates programmatic financial and operational effectiveness.
  • Works with managed care to develop appropriate care programs and reimbursement models.
  • Designs, establishes, and maintains an ambulatory organizational structure and staffing model to accomplish organizational goals and objectives of Colony Park activities; recruits, employs, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff.
  • Works with finance to develop annual operating and capital budgets for Colony Park operations.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and policies for HIPAA, safety, infection control, OSHA, CLIA, and other agencies as appropriate to the practice.
  • Responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Colony Park location.
  • Maintains accurate, current, and comprehensive statistical data on campus operations; prepares and submits routine and special reports to leadership on operations, budgetary variance, and corrective action plans as needed.
  • Collaborates with University Physicians leadership and the Council of Clinical Chairs in determining resource allocation among divisions and campuses. Works with physician leadership to develop scheduling protocols for ambulatory, surgical, procedural, and other service delivery to increase productivity.

Requires frequent working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, frequent travelling to offsite locations, frequent activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, occasional work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, occasional crouching/stooping, frequent driving, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, frequent reaching, frequent sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and frequent walking.
