Job Description
Tri-Pac, Inc. a contract development and manufacturing company (CDMO) specializing in liquid and aerosol filling for personal care and pharmaceutical marketers, is seeking an experience EHS Specialist for immediate addition to our fast growing team.


:


The Environmental Health Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for tasks related to safety and environmental hazards in the workplace as well as administrative needs for recordkeeping, audits and permits. The EHS Specialist has uncompromising standards who works as a collaborative team player, communicates professionally, and demonstrates accountability. Is open to new and innovative ideas and focuses on continuous improvement and brings a cheerful outlook to the workplace.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversee hazardous waste storage area, waste reduction monitoring, and ensure regulatory agency compliance, labeling, containments, proper disposal, and documentation.
  • Continually improve, evaluate, implement, and maintain health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to protect employees and comply with company, state, federal and local regulations.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with regulatory guidelines.
  • Responsible in emergency response and provide first aid guidance.
  • Conduct auditing to monitor progress of EHS improvement and compliance. Leverage the data and findings to implement true root cause corrective actions.
  • Facilitates/Leads joint employee-management EHS committees.
  • Practiced GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) protocols.
  • Administer plant safety and environmental initiatives and lead continuous improvement efforts in those areas, utilizing effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Identify, further develop, and deliver training programs in a manner that raises employee’s awareness and enables employees and supervisors to work safely.
  • Conduct regular safety walks of work areas to identify and eliminate potential safety risks and talk to the personnel to identify their concerns. Communicate safety and health issues to the workers in a manner to help them understand why they are important and addressing them is for their benefit.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Ability to lead small, diverse teams with a focus on driving safety performance metrics.
  • Manage facility workplace incident investigations to include responding to and reporting all incidents, incident investigations, determine root cause, establishing recurrence prevention plans, and follow through.
  • Promote a zero-injury safety culture by providing guidance and coaching to grow the leadership team, plant operations, and plant safety committees. Promote safe work behaviors and foster a safety culture that keeps the safety of employees at the forefront of our business.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding employee safety issues, investigations, and company processes.
  • Maintain all relevant EHS logs documentation and compliance to safety program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure all new materials and supply orders include Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and evaluate new raw materials for facility use considering safety and regulatory factors.


Education and/or Experience:


  • May be required to successfully complete training, qualification related to programs, or secure licenses required for the operation of the property within one year of start date.
  • 3+ years of experience in the safety, environment, and health field in a manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated program development, implementation, and training success.
  • Strong track record for transformative results through programs, training, and culture shaping.
  • Certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid.
  • BS or AS in EHS, Industrial Safety or Hygiene; or professional certification(s) preferred.
  • Familiar with computer equipment and programs. Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
