Title: Entry Level Scheduler (Remote)

Position: Fully remote, based out of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the Resource Allocation Review (RAR) process.
• Deliver necessary plots, reports, and schedule sorts.
• Maintain spacecraft support requirements, flight view periods, and scheduling constraints.
• Maintain project interfaces with Applied Physic Laboratory (APL), Near Earth Network Scheduling Office (NENSO), European Space Agency (ESA), and NASA/GSFC.
• Prepare weekly scheduling status reports.
• Support project directed meetings.
• Resolve conflicts and negotiate with DSN users to maximize science data return.
• Generate requirements using Request/Requirement & Control Language (R&CL) and events in Service Scheduling Software (SSS) for initial schedule generation.
• Participate in process improvement activities.
• Perform overall scheduling activities for supported missions: Advanced Composition Explorer (ACE), Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS), Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO), Parker Solar Probe (SPP), Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory (STEREO), Technical Data Management System (TESS), Wind, Interstellar Mapping and Acceleration Probe (IMAP), and Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope (RST).
• Operate and test internet utilities, Common Allocation and Scheduling Tool (CAST), Service Preparation Subsystem (SPS), SSS, and internally developed scripts.
• Coordinate the delivery of accurate DSN view periods and other mission products for analysis.
• Interface with Deep Space Network (DSN) entities on behalf of the projects.

Education & Skills

• Background in computers and application software, including UNIX.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• BA/BS degree in mathematics or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office or equivalent.

Preferred

• Experience with CAST, SPS, and SSS.
• Familiarity with SSMO DSN scheduling user requirements.
• 3 years of experience with network scheduling or related flight project experience.

• This position requires U.S. citizenship or Greencard/Permanent residence due to the sensitivity of work.
