We are searching for a self-motivated and outgoing Entry Level Event Specialist to assist our organization in delivering phenomenal events that build business relationships, generate excitement around our organization, grow sales, and amplify brand awareness. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and creative. Must have prior experience with events. Requirements:
- Remaining under budget with all costs
- Plan and execute the event based on the budget and financial ability of the host of the event
- General Sales and Marketing daily activities.
- Creating reliable financial reports and collecting payments on time
- Negotiate with appropriate vendors before the event.
- Builds and maintains customer relationships.
- Coordinate with all the departments involved in the organization of the event.
- Managing events and addressing potential problems that may arise
- Planning for potential scenarios that could impact the integrity of the event
- Holding yourself accountable for measurable, high-quality, and timely results.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors and venues
Requirements
Event Coordinators carry out many tasks on their own, but a major aspect of the job is working with a team. Delegating to a team properly and making sure everyone has what they need to do their job requires team management and leadership skills.
- Lead marketing and communications for the organization (including, but not limited to annual conferences, membership recruitment, job/career postings, member benefits, advocacy, elections, etc.) in digital and print media.
- This position will be a point of contact for communication to and within the association.
- Project a professional demeanor as well as using tact when dealing with others.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in computer software including Excel, Microsoft Word, and Customer Relationship Management.
- Strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to focus under pressure
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

Education:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience preferred.
