We have a local client looking for an entry-level bookkeeper to help perform the basic, day-to-day duties for a VP of a large company. This would be a great position for a recent graduate looking to gain experience and in the field skills. This position will be PT and, if a good fit for the company long term, can be turned into a full-time position. Hours can be flexible, candidate will work 3-5 days a week.
A bookkeeper helps to maintain financial records such as purchases, sales, payments and receipts. Duties include:
- Enter data, maintain records and create reports and financial statements.
- Process accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Perform partial checks of the posting process.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger and general ledger.
Requirements
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
- BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
Relevant degree is required.
