The IT Management Platform ServiceNow Engineer is a key member responsible for the design, development, configuration, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting of Costco’s ServiceNow platform. This role will engage in projects, working with other platform engineers, architects, software developers, and subject matter experts in the creation of design, process and governance to ensure platform stability and implement architectural changes as necessary. The Platform Engineer is in charge of giving the team technical direction and designing and putting into practice rigorous development, documentation, design, and code review processes. This role is responsible for overseeing the overall performance and availability of the ServiceNow platform at Costco. The IT Management Platform Engineer will provide the root cause of problems while working toward solutions to technical issues, conduct POCs working closely with Architects and developers, lead process optimization efforts, deploy new releases and/or enhancements, and maintain the platform’s operational functions.

ROLE

Partners with project managers, solution leads, and other stakeholders to establish the rough order of magnitude estimates, to create and maintain a robust framework to support applications, and to deliver quality solutions.

Contributes, interprets, and communicates enterprise, technical, project, and operational strategies to the team.

Develops team vision to drive new capabilities against a published roadmap, in conjunction with management.

Ensures that proposed and existing systems are aligned with organizational standards, goals, and objectives.

Formulates and directs activities that align short term goals and long term initiatives while providing accurate and timely estimates of work breakdown schedules.

Tests and resolves problems, performs root cause analysis, identifies gaps, recommends solutions and preventative measures, and leads team members to solution delivery plans.

Runs proof of concepts and uses diagnostic/debugging skills to solve current challenges in multi-platform systems

Provides leadership/mentoring to team members, implements development efficiencies, creates appropriate. documentation, drives operational efficiencies and technical growth within the team, and supports the release model

Optimizes team efficiency and performance through high level technical direction.

Provides technical leadership in implementation of applications, strategic planning sessions, documentation of requirements, tool implementation, database query languages, and programming languages..

Presents technical designs and solutions to executives, management, and other audiences to gain consensus and/or project approval.

Develops solutions to Costco IT business problems that impact the IT Management platform and with Enterprise Architecture to ensure solution alignment with strategic discretion.

Provides technical oversight of IT Management platform (currently ServiceNow); including scripting, configuration, integrations, and administration.

Participates in process flow design and process redesign along with the Project Manager and Product Owner.

Defines the technical standards and guidelines of the broader delivery and operations teams.

Designs solutions to meet business requirements, best practice, and be consultative throughout the technical design of the project. Produce a detailed functional design document to match customer requirements.

Drives solid instance health by reviewing and guiding the remediation of configurations that do not align to ServiceNow best practices.

Specifies, designs, and maintains API and data integration solutions between ServiceNow and partner systems.

Assists with ServiceNow Discovery configuration, customization, implementation, and mid-server architecture.

Works with Technical Architect teams to produce a technical specification for custom development and systems integration requirements.

Engages with customer enterprise architects to position ServiceNow as the digital transformation platform integrated with the core systems.

Configures and designs actionable dashboards to capture metrics showing the health of IT services.

Monitors health and usage of the IT Management platform.

Designs, deploys, and participates in Global Governance process such as design and code reviews.

Understands Costco's ITSM, ITBM, ITOM, GRC processes, and ServiceNow product capabilities.

REQUIRED

5+ years’ large program experience in implementation, administration, configuration, and/or development with ServiceNow ITSM, ITOM, IRM, and other application suites.

5+ years’ experience implementing ITSM, ITBM, ITOM processes, and solutions.

3+ years’ experience with web technologies including API's, CSS, XML, HTML, and Web Services.

3+ year experience in Rest Web Services development and integration.

Experienced in CMDB implementations.

Strong knowledge of JavaScript design and development. Experience with Angular or similar Javascript frameworks.

Experience in Data Visualization.

Experience with Agile, Scrum, and SDLC including Requirements design, Installation, Development, Testing (application code and user acceptance), and Deployment.

Knowledgeable on ServiceNow Security Best Practices and Procedures.

Ability to communicate technical information in business terms.

Demonstrated ability to own and resolve complex technical issues.

Strong project management skills; experience utilizing project management tools and formal methodology.

Ability to plan deliverables and coordinate with team-members.

Ability to work closely with other departments on projects and problem resolution and effectively participate in technical discussions.

Excellent trouble-shooting skills.

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to create and present documentation or proposals for projects/tasks.

Prior experience mentoring and providing technical guidance.

Recommended

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or Related Field or equivalent work experience.

5+ years’ experience as a ServiceNow Engineer, Administrator, Developer, or Implementation Specialist.

ITIL certification.

Certified ServiceNow Admin (Advanced).

Experience developing JavaScript applications using Angular.

Understanding of LDAP and/or Active Directory Environment.

Experience with Unix, Linux, Windows server administration and virtualization (VMWare).

Pay Range: $145,000 - $175,000, Bonus and Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) eligible
