Job Duties and Responsibilities

Designs configurations for cloud and desktop software, hardware, and mobile devices.

Evaluates, tests and implements new computing technology. The Engineer implements and maintains automated software delivery solutions and computer imaging. Responsible for documenting solutions to problems and developing end-user guidelines. Provide training for hardware and software solutions they support. Additionally, they must have a strong understanding of security best practices, as endpoint devices are often a prime target for cyber attacks.

Research new and emerging technologies. Proposes potential POC opportunities, tests new technologies, and investigates potential new solutions for existing technologies.

Consults with the business and makes recommendations on hardware and software solutions. Interaction with different business groups is vital within this role and requires an understanding of multiple business segments and it’s impact on their functions.

Provides technical support to the service desk analysts and desktop technologies group.

Works with vendors and IT departments to resolve application and hardware issues.
