Job Description

Purpose :

The Affiliate Publications Specialist provides support for the management of Affiliate publications in accordance with the Affiliate publications business processes, ensuring adherence to established timelines and AbbVie policies and procedures. In addition to managing the workflow for Affiliate publication activities within Datavision and ensuring records are accurate and up-to-date, the Affiliate Publications Specialist serves as a Datavision systems expert by providing guidance to Affiliate and headquarters’ staff on the use of Datavision for Affiliate publications. Position further provides support for training stakeholders regarding activities associated with the Affiliate publications business process.


  • Manage workflow for Affiliate publications in accordance with Affiliate publications business processes. Ensure all activities in support of Affiliate publications adhere to established timelines and AbbVie policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate expertise and serve as expert resource for Datavision, providing guidance to publication stakeholders when needed.
  • Establish and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with department staff, Affiliate staff, Area Medical Affairs staff, and other stakeholders involved with Affiliate publications.
  • Provide support for training on activities associated with the Affiliate publications business process.
  • Contribute ideas regarding systems or process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce expenditure, and/or ensure quality.
  • Effectively communicate with Affiliate and headquarters’ stakeholders regarding Affiliate publication requirements and timeframes for completion of activities.
  • Create and maintain Affiliate publication records in Datavision. Ensure records are accurate and up-to-date, working with Affiliate representatives to obtain necessary information.
  • Maintain current awareness of and serve as a resource on good publication practices and AbbVie policies and procedures applicable to publications to all stakeholders involved with Affiliate publications.
  • Generate ad hoc and scheduled reports and metrics on Affiliate publication activities as assigned. Responsible for accurate completion of documentation and ensuring accuracy of reports.
  • Effectively multitask to ensure that publication activities and other assigned responsibilities are completed in a timely manner.

  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and/or projects with limited supervision is a necessity.
  • Pharmaceutical or related industry experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Office and Internet navigation proficiencies essential.
  • Experience with publication management software or publication document support preferred.
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree required.
