Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Management Coordinator to join our vibrant Emergency Management Division. At our Company, we are committed to ensuring the safety and resilience of our community in the face of any human-caused or natural disaster. As an Emergency Management Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in implementing our comprehensive emergency management program for [Location Omitted], fostering disaster preparedness, and enhancing collaboration with partner agencies and jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
As our Emergency Management Coordinator, you will be involved in a variety of critical tasks and projects, including but not limited to:
Leading the periodic creation, review, and update of hazard mitigation and recovery plans.
Coordinating training and the implementation of Disaster Assistance Programs.
Serving as the coordinator for the Local Emergency Planning Committee.
Collaborating with state, local, and regional partners on critical infrastructure disaster assessment and recovery plans.
Conducting training sessions in accordance with FEMA Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program.
Essential Job Functions
In this role, you will be expected to:
Plan, direct, and administer the Emergency Management Program and related plans and procedures.
Maintain a 24-hour emergency operations center to ensure readiness.
Review, modify, or develop current and new plans and procedures as required, representing [Location Omitted] regionally.
Organize disaster drills and exercises, evaluate results, and implement improvements.
Conduct training and public information presentations for partner agency employees and the general population.
Act as a municipal representative for various state and countywide emergency management meetings.
Assist partner agency departments in the development of emergency and disaster plans and procedures.
Stay updated on emergency management issues and provide relevant information to cities, counties, and regional departments.
Design, manage, and execute full-scale, functional, tabletop, or workshop regional disaster exercises.
Collaborate with regional partners, including emergency response entities, healthcare facilities, businesses, utilities, schools, and community organizations, on emergency planning and preparedness initiatives.
Engage regularly with involved jurisdictions, committees, councils, and volunteers in planning and participating in regional emergency preparedness events and activities.
Prepare project reports and develop program reports, proposals, and correspondence for distribution to stakeholders.
Represent the region or agency at meetings as requested, serve on various committees, and offer assistance to other departments, outside agencies, and the public as needed.
Plan, coordinate, and speak at public engagements, training sessions, and educational events.
Serve as an on-call Emergency Services Duty Officer.
Staff and oversee Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activities during activations, and maintain EOC equipment, processes, and procedures.
Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
At least one year of emergency preparedness experience.
A Bachelor's degree in emergency management, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field (may substitute for the required experience).
Knowledge of the laws and regulations governing emergency management.
Familiarity with emergency and/or disaster planning principles and practices.
Proficiency in managing and coordinating disaster recovery operations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in computer usage and related software.
The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
The capacity to analyze information under emergency operating conditions and determine the appropriate course of action.
Selection Process

Initial Virtual Interview - To verify qualifications, experience, and availability.
Panel Assessment Interview (In Person) - A scored interview conducted by CRESA.
Conditional Job Offer - Contingent upon successfully passing background investigation, criminal fingerprinting, and psychological evaluation.
Internal candidates may be exempt from portions of this process.
Background Investigation - A detailed check including employment history, education, references, criminal history, and driving record.
Felony convictions are disqualifying.
