Location: Batavia, IL


Duration of Role: 3+ months


Pay: Market rate / DOE


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Neutrino Division, Technical Support, Electrical Group is seeking an electronics/electrical technician to support the liquid argon experimental program at Fermilab for a three-month base term with an option to renew the contract based on performance.


Under the direct supervision of more senior group members, the technician will assist with the installation, testing, and repair of cryogenic controls equipment, including cabling, sensors, and signal conditioning electronics. The technician will assist with the preparation of electronics rack infrastructure and detector electronics installations.


In addition:


  • Abide by all ES&H regulations, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Assist senior technical group members with a variety of liquid argon experiment system
  • Installations, testing, and repairs per provided procedures and/or schematics.


REQUIRED:


  • Policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to use basic electronics troubleshooting equipment such as a DMM and oscilloscope.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and electronics schematics.
  • Ability to operate a government vehicle.
  • Possesses and applies fundamental knowledge of electrical and electronics concepts,
  • Ability to work in ODH environments.
  • HS degree (or technical certificate or equivalent) plus 2 years general experience.
