1st Shift

Position Summary:
As an Electronic Controls Technician (E-Tech), you will focus on equipment troubleshooting and maintaining automation equipment for high-volume manufacturing such as loading modules, presses, wash systems, annealing systems, material conveyors, cameras, sensors, print and apply labeling systems, scales, HMI systems, and control cabinets.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist in establishing/maintaining preventive maintenance related to electronic/electrical systems.
  • Partner with Mechanics to resolve equipment and electrical problems that create performance deficiencies.
  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with operations and site support resources.
  • Communicate technical issues to site and operations leadership to escalate issues that impact operations, minimizing downtime impact.
  • Update or create electrical schematics as required.
  • Seek out and implement continuous improvement projects related to costs, quality, and efficiency.
  • Assist in identifying and establishing critical spare part inventory related to electronic needs for operations equipment.
  • Support and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, motors, servo and frequency drives, robotics, sensors, and electrical distribution systems.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Experience supporting a range of different automation systems.
  • Experience supporting network controls of industrial equipment (particularly Ignition).
  • Experience with automation for ammunition or explosive-rated equipment.
  • Experience with technical support of robotics.
  • Working knowledge of aspects of electronic control systems: PLCs, HMIs, motor starts, variable frequency drives, DC drives, electrical schematics, wiring conventions and standard electrical components.
  • Experience with AB & SIEMENS PLCs and PLC components.
  • 2+ years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Control Systems troubleshooting/ programming.
  • 3+ years of experience troubleshooting electrical and electronic issues of Industrial equipment.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programs.
  • 2+ years of experience working with HMIs.
  • Experience with robotic maintenance.
  • Associate’s degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience or a high school diploma or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant work experience.
Working Conditions:
  • Stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds.
