:
Indorama Integrated Oxides & Derivatives is looking for an Electrician to join our team in Port Neches, Texas. The Electrician inspects, repairs, replaces and performs routine maintenance on electrical equipment (120, 240,480,2300,13,800 and 69,000 volts) including motor starters, switchgear, disconnects, breakers, relays, transformers, and other related electrical equipment located in a chemical manufacturing production facility.
What will be expected from you?
  • Completes all diagnostic activities commensurate with sound electrical safety practices, procedures and protocols both as specified in site Safety Procedures and by the National Electrical Code.
  • Participates in Company required training programs and maintains required electrical credentials.
  • Completes required computer-based training within specified timeframes.
  • Assists other employees in accomplishments of Indorama company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
  • Must be able to follow site protocols for documenting work and equipment repair histories as applicable.
  • Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes company required training programs.
  • Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Performs housekeeping duties to keep the area clean and free from debris.
  • Effective in communicating electrical needs to all levels of the organization.
  • Performs other electrical duties as assigned.
  • Identifies and communicates troubleshooting and diagnostic evaluations for causes of electrical equipment failure.
  • Physically executes the installation of electrical equipment such as motors, panels, lighting. Diagnoses electrical problems and determines solutions, checking blueprints, schematics, manuals and catalogues as necessary. Uses hand and power tools common to the trade in order to repair or disassemble current equipment and/or install new equipment.
  • Regularly performs routine Preventive Maintenance and repairs to assure equipment runs reliably and efficiently and completes Preventative Maintenance paperwork/Inteletrac entry.
What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?
  • 5 years of Journeyman Electrician experience in service and / or an industrial environment required.
  • Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must be able to follow management practices for documenting work and equipment repair histories.
  • Associate Degree in Electrical Technology or completion of Electrician apprenticeship program required.
  • State of Texas Journeyman Electrical License is REQUIRED.
  • Must be able to reason and interpret a variety of complex technical instructions. Ability to use special reasoning to envision how objects will look when rearranged or rotated to understand abstract and concrete concepts. Ability to use inductive/deductive reasoning and sequential thinking skills to resolve problems and organize the flow of work.
  • Must have or be able to quality for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Effective oral, written and computer communication skills.
  • SAP proficiency preferred.
  • Works near moving mechanical parts, exposed to vibration.
  • Certificates of completed electrical training.(Will be required to produce certificates)
  • Works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes, or airborne particles, chemicals, and runs the risk of electrical shock working with various levels of electrical voltage.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Familiar with NFPA 70E Standards for Electrical Safety in the Workplace.
  • Must be able to climb and work at elevated heights and is regularly exposed to wet and or humid conditions.
