POSITION OVERVIEW

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering has an immediate opening for an Electrical Senior Project Manager in our growing Rail Transit Systems design engineering group. The role is located in our McLean, VA with the opportunity for flexible work. The Senior PM will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail/transit and systems, and materials disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects.

DISTRICT OVERVIEW

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety. LOCATION

This position is based out of our McLean, VA office and typically requires ability to travel as business necessitates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop project specific hardware and software solutions to meet contract specifications and clients’ need.
  • Train and mentor engineering staffs.
  • Provide technical guidance to support the entire organization for successful project delivery. This includes, but not limited to, peer review, develop technical white paper, site visiting and troubleshooting, attend technical meetings, factory and field test witness, etc.
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the project team and provide leadership.
  • Plans and manage all aspects of Electrical and/or Rail Electrification projects to ensure the delivery of cost-effective design solutions, which meets internal and external client needs. This includes scope definition, design development, cost estimation and budget management, project progress evaluation and reporting, engineering support services during construction, safety certification and system integration support services, project closeout, etc.,

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional engineering license is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills in manage and mentor technical staffs working toward a common goal.
  • Bachelor’s degrees in engineering fields.
  • Ability to travel as business necessitates
  • Experience with traction power design for light and heavy rail projects.
  • 5 years of leadership and/or technical team management experience.
  • This position requires an experienced electrical power distribution candidate who can succeed in a multi-discipline, design-build environment
  • Strong communicate skills that ensure effective communication with internal and external clients, sub-consultants, and suppliers to support the successful delivery of complex rail electrification projects.
  • Require at least 15+ years of electrical design experience on U.S. transportation design build projects
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
