Overview:
Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Electrical Project Manager based out of Irvine, CA. This challenging position will provide an excellent growth opportunity while improving the infrastructure of the city.

Electrical Division

Since the early 1990s, Shimmick has been self-performing electrical scopes for civil projects. Shimmick offers electrical expertise in transit, water/wastewater, alternative energy, power generation and transmission civil work, as well as commercial building projects. This division’s ability to self-perform offers additional value to clients and enables better control of cost and schedule for projects with major electrical scopes. The Electrical Division serves clients which include municipalities, water districts, sanitation districts, transit agencies, private developers, DOTs, and USACE.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for client relations, project development, resource management, and supervision of construction activities as they relate to contract administration and management of scope, safety, quality, schedule, budget, and change management.

Responsible for overall project performance including job profit and loss for Construction projects. Job duties include but aren't limited to: coordination and integration of multidisciple project functions including but not limited to construction, project controls, quality and commercial administration in a manner to meet project operational and business objectives. Responsible to establish a culture of safe work performance. Activitly engaged in developing and managing client relations.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned construction project.
  • Provides technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, maintains close client interface, and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
  • Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skill
  • Strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail
  • Work independently and effectively to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders
  • Concrete structures, MSE Walls, Rail, Transit, Wastewater experience
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills
