Interplan is a commercial architectural and engineering firm with over 50 years of experience specializing in restaurant and retail design for large nationwide clients. With offices in Orlando, Chicago, and Fort Worth, our Orlando office is expanding, and we are seeking a talented Electrical Designer/Engineer to join our team!

Responsibilities

• Other duties as assigned
• Fire alarm, smoke detector and strobe/alarm design
• Life — Safety building requirements
• Review shop drawing submittals
• Site lighting photometrics
• Be able to do building electrical load calculation
• Knowledge/understanding of electrical building codes and NEC
• Design applicable lighting system
• Responsible to permit comments
• Calculation of connected and demand loads
• Position requires ability to run loads and the ability to produce power and lighting code calculations
• Do basic circuiting and create panel schedules
• Emergency lighting and egress systems
• Equipment and Systems specifications

Qualifications & Prior Experience

• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical materials and systems and their application
• Experience with power systems, lighting systems, and building control systems
• Strong communication skills required
• Awareness of NEC codes and application to specific design
• 2 -4 years in the design of building electrical systems required
