Evans Distribution Systems , one of the area’s leading logistics providers is looking for experienced electric forklifts drivers, stand ups and sit downs for our customer in Southwest, Detroit.

Description

• Prepare necessary paperwork and submit to operations manager
• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product as needed
• Frequent & repetitive lifting using both hands/arms for items weighing
• Lift using proper safety methods provided by the company
• Loading and unloading trucks.
• Check or count freight for accuracy and/or damage and infestation
• Assisting in the process of moving seats from wood pallets to computerized plastic pallets.
• Frequent bending and twisting at waist/knees/neck while off-loading and loading trucks
• Handle customer products with integrity
• The Lifting frequency may be in excess of 100 repetitions per shift
• Assist in warehousing operations as needed, and all other miscellaneous duties as requested by supervisor
• Help maintain cleanliness of warehouse and building grounds
• Approximately 50 lbs
• Perform all duties in conformance with appropriate safety and security standards
• Moving materials to the production line and removing empty dunnage.
• Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials with integrity in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion
• Efficiently stack and store merchandise in the appropriate area
• Responsible for awareness and compliance with warehouse work rules and company policies

Requirements

• High school degree/GED
• 3 years’ experience driving an electric forklift, stand ups and sit downs (must be able to drive both)
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing (includes background check and drug test)

Details & Location

· Position located in the Southwest Detroit Area

· Shifts:, 2pm to 10pm & 10pm to 6am, Monday through Friday with some Saturdays

· Starting wage is $17 per hour, $0.50 shift premium for shifts starting at 2pm and 10pm.
