Your Impact:


Jacobs is seeking a Document Editor position to support the NISSC II contract. Your career at Jacobs enables NISSC to fulfill its mission to “provide classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability in organizational work centers at NISSC sites.” As a member of our team, you will support corporate and customer mission to provide world-class IT services and support that connects systems and users across NORAD in the areas of software development/maintenance, network services, cyber security, systems administration, and other mission-critical areas.

The Document Editor determines the clearest and most logical way to present information for reader

comprehension, works with a variety of documentation in support of the NISCC II contract, and ensures all contract documentation is consistent with precedents and defensible with the law and regulations. The Document Editor works within the Technical Publications Team and collaborates frequently with engineers, project management, and leadership.

Typical Duties Include:

  • Consult with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to prepare new or incorporate changes to existing product documentation, processes, procedures, etc.
  • Coordinate review, publication, and delivery of artifacts.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and maintain artifacts IAW DoD/DID standards and/or corporate templates and requirements for review.
  • Support standard Agile ritual meetings (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives) as necessary and assist Scrum teams in execution of Sprints.
  • Participate in planning and design of artifacts (both internal and CDRL based; templates and content).
  • Perform content management functions, such as document organization, using a central repository.
  • Review technical and administrative documentation for clarity, conciseness, cohesion as well as grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting.
  • Additional duties will include providing backup support for coworkers including administration, metrics collection, and document planning.
  • Produce summary-level meeting minutes logically and clearly to capture and consolidate decisions, action items, intentions, and concerns.
  • Attend and participate in periodic large-scale Agile Planning events.

Experience Requirements:

  • Must have at least 6 years of relevant experience directly related to technical writing/editing, or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adept at coordination and integration of content from various stakeholders.
  • Strong ownership of assigned documents and artifacts from beginning to end.
  • Proficiency in PC applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint, and other Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiar with DoD publications.
  • Experience with SharePoint.
  • Ability to be highly creative, innovative, and provide quick-reaction responses.
  • Ability to understand technical documents relating to missile defense.
  • Desired: Experience working on NISSC II Products/Applications

This position is expected to pay $55,000-70,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Essential Functions

Work Environment

  • Work will be performed inside a large facility. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting).

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC or laptop. Filing required. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.

Attendance

  • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is mandatory.

  • Candidate must be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • The position for which you are applying for requires a US government security clearance. Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to work effectively with a variety of government, military and contractor personnel at all levels.
  • Employment is contingent upon obtaining all required certifications within the timeframe specified in a waiver by the government (if applicable) and maintaining required certifications through the duration of the contract. Failure to obtain/maintain required certifications will result in disqualification for this position and could result in termination.
