These positions are 100% remote and will headquartered at your home location (Wisconsin residency required).

Position Summary


The DMV Communication Center Representatives answer question and determine eligibility for drivers and occupational licenses and reinstatements, ID card issuance, various traffic offenses, and point assessment statuses. These representatives respond to inquiries regarding titling and registering vehicles, the vehicle emissions program, registration suspensions, records requests, and various other vehicle related issues. These positions also regularly read and interpret state statutes and federal regulations related to vehicle titling, registration, and driver licensing. Contacts will include the general public, in-state and out-of-state vehicle dealerships, law enforcement, state and federal agencies, and numerous other business partners.

Salary Information


These positions are in schedule-range (02-11) with a starting pay rate of $20.46/hr, with a $1.40/hr. increase after one year of satisfactory performance.

Saturday hours may occasionally be required. An additional $0.80/hr will be awarded for all Saturday hours.

A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Some positions are bilingual in Spanish and English. These positions get an additional $1.00/hr add on. If you are bilingual in Spanish and English, be sure to click the "Add Language Skills" button in the Qualifications>Profile Information step of the application process and indicate your Spanish speaking proficiency level. The bilingual positions will require the individual selected to be bilingual in Spanish and English. To fill such vacancies, those who indicate they are bilingual on their application will be tested on their ability to communicate in Spanish, in addition to English.

Job Details


WisDOT does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States.

Prior to any appointments for position(s) filled from this announcement, candidates may be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check which may include FBI fingerprinting.

There is an opportunity to reclass to the Advanced level after successfully completing the 12-month probationary period.

These positions have a work schedule that is 100% remote. While these positions are 100% remote, the selected candidates will be required to maintain Wisconsin Residency and may need to report to a DMV office location on short notice.

DMV will provide a computer and other computer equipment. The selected candidates will be responsible for having at least 30 MPBS download and 10 MPBS upload internet bandwidth.

Qualifications


Qualified applicants will have experience with all the following:

  • Experience researching and resolving customer issues or concerns.
  • Experience working with computer programs, such as Microsoft Outlook, Word or Excel.
  • For the bilingual position(s): Ability to read, write and speak fluently in Spanish in addition to English
  • Experience providing customer service.

In addition to having all the above, well qualified applicants will have experience with one or more of the following:

  • Experience interpreting and explaining complex information, such as laws and statutes.
  • Experience working as a member of a team to achieve a singular goal.
  • Experience in a high-volume customer service contact center (contacting customers via phone, email, or chat).
  • Experience performing work that requires multitasking.
