Job Description

OVERVIEW

The Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Director provides strategic leadership that formalizes and advances Suns Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) strategy. This role ensures IDEA principals and initiatives are engrained in Suns culture, processes, practices, and everyday operations throughout the organization.

JOB DUTIES

  • Develops, formalizes, and leads the organizations Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) strategy.
  • Drives and supports cultural change management processes that relate to and/or impact IDEA initiatives and strategies.
  • Establishes credibility as an expert on diversity and inclusion best practices, policies, procedures, and issues; develops and nurtures trusting relationships with key leaders across the organization.
  • Collaborates with leadership teams to integrate IDEA practices into employment, workplace and business culture and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Partners with various teams and departments within the organization to implement applicable IDEA action plans that further the overall IDEA strategy.
  • Maintains knowledge of diversity-related issues, trends, and best practices.
  • Establishes, manages, and ensures the success of short and long-term IDEA goals across the organization.
  • Participates in IDEA Council and acts as a liaison between the council, business leaders and the executive team.
  • Reviews and synthesizes information on current IDEA initiatives and tactics and develops a wholistic strategy to move the organization forward.
  • Provides pertinent information to the executive team, ESG and investor relations groups on IDEA strategies, goals, and progress.
  • Locates and provides support for local community outreach and initiatives that bolster Suns IDEA strategy.
  • Develops and delivers timely and impactful training on pertinent IDEA subjects in collaboration with the Learning & Development team; provides education and guidance to executive and leadership teams on IDEA topics and strategies.
  • Creates KPIs and measurable methods to ensure and show success of IDEA strategy and initiatives; presents and provides information to the executive team and other departments as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Superior project management, program administration and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel by car or plane with overnight stays as required
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions
  • Master's Degree in Organizational Development, Change Management, Human Resources, or related field (Preferred)
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, interdependent manner with a wide array of people throughout various levels of the organization
  • Ability to respond to business needs after hours
  • Certified Diversity Professional (CDP)
  • Ability to define, scope, and track performance metrics
  • Outstanding verbal, written and presentational communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and advance relationships and conversations
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong analytical skills to gather, interpret and deliver information. Ability to draw meaningful insights from data to create strategy
  • 5 years proven experience leading IDEA initiatives within large organizations across multiple locations.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Development, Change Management, Human Resources, or related field (Required)
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to successfully lead others to live Suns culture and produce quality results
