Overview

:
The Global Warehouse & Distribution Manager will be accountable for developing and driving worldwide strategy for movement of goods to support global sourcing activities, manufacturing operations, regional distribution centers and product centers, shipments to customers and reverse logistics with a customer centric focus for current locations and future market expansions.

They will take a proactive approach in driving the success of the international markets. They will communicate and champion the specific needs and concerns of each market to the various departments and Executive management at the home office. They will be a key point of contact for corporate cross-functional leaders and international market leadership to support overall company operational and customer experience objectives.

They will be responsible for ensuring the strategies and activities executed in the operations of international markets meet the standards and fall within the parameters and guidelines set by the company. They will be responsible for communicating and helping the markets execute global strategies initiated from headquarters and identifying and implementing effective and efficient business practices or initiatives that are missing and would help the markets individually and collectively. They will have the ability to model these and other best practices in support of market expansion into new countries or regions.

They are accountable for maintaining the highest standards of inventory integrity throughout all warehouse and distributions operations including receiving, storage, inventory management, and distribution to lead, support and influence business initiatives to exceed the customer delivery expectations while meeting company financial goals. This includes timely and accurate shipping of products to customers and returns from customers, safe and efficient storage and distribution of goods, clearly defined business rules for operational procedures and processes, and location and implementing initiatives that will provide cost reduction, profit improvement and better utilization of resources throughout the world.

Responsibilities

:
Essential
  • Ensures proper acquisition, inspection, repair, installation and preventative maintenance of equipment and facilities
  • Maintain working knowledge of the following systems: JDE, Compass Admin, Compass Returns and RFGen; train associates on effective use and set-up; assist in fixing issues and/or recommend and implement improvements
  • Provide accurate and timely information, reports & statistics to corporate and in-country management to facilitate good decision making – including recommendations for improvement
  • Designs and oversees fulfillment operations with a focus on effective delivery to customers, aggressively managing total costs, driving timely and quality service, and supporting compliance with local regulations
  • Increases operating efficiency by delivering continuous process and labor productivity improvement across warehouse and distribution operations
  • Develops mutually beneficial, respectful, and effective relationships with peers to ensure seamless coordination between departments to maintain shared vision, strategy & focus
  • Ensures accurate inventory management through effective programs and processes, including cycle counting and inventory movement
  • Ensures timely and accurate customer returns process to exceed customer expectations
  • Oversees the planning and scheduling of warehouse and distribution operations including receiving, quality, labeling, storage, inventory management, handling & disposition of materials, distribution and customer shipments
  • Develops and implements policies, procedures, standard work processes, and KPI’s to ensure optimization of performance (service, cost, productivity) and compliance to established corporate and legal standards
  • Provides leadership, mentoring, and guidance to warehouse teams to support key objectives, drive high levels of accountability, ensure strong performance management and skills development
  • Manage and establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling & disposition of materials, keeping warehouse inventory current and delivering all outgoing customer orders and transfers
  • Seek out, create, and implement best practices in warehouse management design, space utilization, policies, systems, technology, automation, and processes
  • Establishes and monitors security procedures and protocols to safeguards warehouse operations and contents
  • Investigates cause analysis issues for problem reconciliation and leads corrective action for complaints related to transportation, logistics handling and warehousing of finished products.
  • Works with carriers/suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and acquire feedback to identify/develop and implement standard processes and procedures of transportation to improve actual service level attainment to ensure operational profitability.Assure the warehouse facilities are audit and inspection-ready at all times

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of process improvement experience with planning, project management, and business analysis with a focus on supply chain, inventory, logistics, and warehouse processes and management
  • Demonstrated leadership, organization and detail skills
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public
  • Ability to work independently and professionally
  • Thorough knowledge of operations company policies and procedures
  • Communicate (hearing & speech) with individuals in person and by phone
  • Proficient in JDE Software or comparable Enterprise Resource Planning system
  • Ability to operate and manipulate general business software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, etc.) in Windows and network environments
  • BS Degree in Business or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to train others in these functions
  • Ability to learn new software and hardware processes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time

Additional
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business publications and periodicals; read computer screens, etc.
  • APICS Certification (preferred)
  • Manual dexterity for such duties as stapling, collating, writing, typing, sorting, filing, etc.
  • Standing, sitting or walking for duration of shift
