The opportunity:

  • The Senior Manager, Distribution Data Management is responsible for overseeing day to day operations of the Distribution Data Management team and will be accountable for broker and policy data quality. You will be the expert representing Distribution in initiatives related to client, broker, and policy data. This role requires strong technical skills, deep knowledge of Sun Life data, and the ability to collaborate and influence within the Group Benefits and IT organizations.

How you will contribute:

  • Regularly report on data quality to Group Distribution Sales and Service leadership
  • Participates in special projects as needed
  • Develop and implement strategy and action plans to manage the integrity of Sun Life’s client, broker, and internal policy team data
  • Create a strong environment of motivation, ownership, and accountability among team members
  • Lead team huddles and use data and metrics to manage daily inventory and production, adjusting workloads as needed
  • Act as a technical resource for complex data issues
  • Develop employees and drive a high performance culture
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement
  • Ability to influence Group Distribution leadership and sales and service teams in order to maintain data integrity, and improve as needed
  • Lead a team of Business Data Consultants and Specialists responsible for maintaining Sun Life’s client, broker, and internal policy team data

What you will bring with you:

  • Strong operational background and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within time constraints
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of employee group benefits products, services, and distribution structure
  • 5-7 years of experience in Group Employee Benefits or equivalent experience managing data
  • Strong relationship management, collaborative, and influencing skills
  • Knowledge of Sun Life internal systems – QPS, DMS, and BDS is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft systems – Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint – and Salesforce.com
  • Strong analytical skills – ability to work with large data sets from multiple sources
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate effectively with business partners
  • Fosters a culture of employee empowerment

If you are a California resident, the salary range for this position is:

Southern region: 76,000-114,100 annually

Central region: 80,200-120,300 annually

Northern region: 85,700-128,600 annually

If you are a Colorado resident, the salary range for this position is 72,600-108,900 annually.


If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is 85,700-128,600 annually

If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is 80,200-120,300 annually
