Job Description

Job Summary

Purposeful, practical, and principled. Beckway, a leading operating company for middle-market private equity firms and their portfolio companies, is hiring a talent and experienced Director specializing in supply chain, with a focus in warehouse design, to join our team.


The position is 100% execution focused. You will work side-by-side with executives and management teams within 1-4 projects at any given time. You will be responsible for leading and coordinating a collection of transformation and/or improvement initiatives, this includes targeting, tracking, and triaging progress to increase and accelerate EBITDA growth. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing and managing the use of proprietary project management software.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives to implement findings and recommendations
  • Establish strong relationships within both internal and external clients to achieve a high, individual performance score
  • Participate in peer teaming program
  • Refer 1-2 new opportunities to the firm annually
  • Collaborate with Operating Partners to assess opportunities to improve financial/operating performance
  • Work to profile, quantify, and prioritize end-markets and customer segments as well as present these findings in a cohesive framework and set of actionable recommendations
  • Contribute to business development activities, including developing successful pitches and up-selling from the initial diagnostic project phase into implementation
  • Clear and frequent communication with Mentor
  • Engage effectively with leadership teams in high-pressure situations
  • Undertake projects that require either full-time or part-time commitments, primarily on-site, and likely to be complex engagements
  • Design statements of work and develop and execute against own workplan
  • Clear and frequent communication with other firm parties involved in your projects
  • Timely and accurate submission of administrative tasks (including client management tasks i.e. T&A).
  • Execute workstreams that deliver tangible benefits to clients
  • Establish operational KPIs, balanced score cards, and reporting/review process to ensure continuous improvement of operational performance


Job Requirements and Qualifications*

  • Consistent track record of successfully executing engagements to desired results, meeting or exceeding client expectations
  • Experience working with Private Equity backed portfolio companies preferred
  • Experience with CapEx and operations costs
  • Experience with conveyor, flowracking and forktruck placements within warehouse
  • 6+ years of recent and relevant experience in supply chain & logistics, warehouse design, facility layout, implementation and management. 5+ facilities/warehouse design projects preferred.
  • Expert written communication skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel applications
  • Experience with 3PL RFP and rack design RFP
  • Exceptional client service and interpersonal skills
  • Synthesizes information quickly and applies good judgment driving quickly to deep insights into possible impacts and solutions
  • 5+ years of experience of incremental project and program management experience
  • Analytical and effectively plans for and mitigates risks on projects and work steams
  • Bachelors degree, preferably in industrial engineering or supply chain
  • Articulate and persuasive communicator that handles executive and difficult audiences well and readily adapts style and message appropriately to audience and circumstance
