Job Description

The Director, CA Global Supply Chain, reports to the VP, CA Global Operations & Supply Chain and will serve as the leader for the Global Supply Chain & Inventory for the Construction Adhesives (CA) global business unit. This Director has ownership of the establishment and execution of the supply chain strategy and ensures its alignment with the enterprise’s business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success. This Director will oversee the critical functions of the supply chain, including supply and demand planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, customer fulfillment, and increasingly, sustainability.


The Director brings a current knowledge and future vision of orchestrating materials, products, and (increasingly) services across a network of internal and external partners. They leverage functional expertise and cross-functional experience or awareness in order to influence customer experience and enhance the organization’s ability to deliver on ever-changing customer expectations.


The position directly supervises the Global and International Supply Chain team, logistics, plant scheduling and buying. The Director is also a member of the CA Operations & Supply Chain Leadership Team.


Primary Duties


Sets the mission and vision of the supply chain organization to foster a business-oriented and customer-centric culture and mindset, while ensuring quality, safety and reliability of supply.

Leads the development of the supply chain strategy and roadmap. Ensures its integration with the enterprise’s strategic planning process, and the resulting business strategy and plans.

Acts as a trusted advisor and builds and maintains relationships with other C-level executives and business unit leaders to develop a clear understanding of business needs. Ensures cost-effective delivery of supply chain services to meet those needs and responds with agility to changing business priorities.

Directs the design and implementation of the supply chain operating model, organizational structure, and governance process. Uses influencing and negotiation skills to create synergies across the organization to enable cost-effective and innovative shared solutions in achievement of business goals.

Collaborates with executive leadership and business partners to define and execute the supply chain strategy. Participates in and contributes to the assessment of external opportunities and threats and internal capabilities required to meet demand and achieve desired competitive positioning.

Champion the development of network optimization, to include transportation and logistics.

Leads and managers Contract Manufacturing.

Serves on enterprise planning and policymaking committees. Drives the development of functional and cross-functional standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure supply chain delivers value to the enterprise.

Monitors the competitive landscape, political and regulatory changes and challenges, technological advances, and consumer/customer behaviors. Provides direction on what processes, people capabilities and emerging technologies should be assimilated, integrated and introduced within the supply chain organization.

Provides strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and continuous improvement of supply chain processes that fulfill the needs of the business.

Engages and works with HR and key stakeholders to map out scenarios for supply chain workforce transformations, with considerations to diversity and inclusion. Develops the supply chain workforce strategy and action plans that align with and enable the effective execution of business and supply chain strategies.

Develops and maintains a supply chain workforce with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, functional skills and competencies. Balances the need for improving the agility of the supply chain organization while ensuring the core supply chain functions are reliable, stable and efficient.

Leads the establishment and execution of a digital workplace strategy that enables the development of digital dexterity in the supply chain workforce. Ensures employees have the tools and work environment to be more engaged, productive and effective.

Participates and partners with the business leadership team to drive culture change, often in support of digital business transformation.

Provides leadership, coaching and direction to the Supply Chain leadership team and staff – 25+ direct and indirect staff.


Required Qualifications


Bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain, engineering, operations, business administration, logistics or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

15+ years' experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, and/or Business with a multi-national company

APICS certification

LEAN Six sigma

Five to seven years of leadership responsibilities

Preferably five years or more of experience in related, industry-leading, large, cross-functional teams or enterprise wide programs, influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization and within complex contexts

Demonstrated experience in supply chain strategic planning, organization design and development, particularly in relation to the desired transition strategy (for example, start-up or accelerated growth).

Preferably proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading supply chain transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments and taking advantage of digital opportunities to innovate business models and enable the digitalization of the business.

Ability to travel 30%-50% domestically and internationally.
