As a rapidly growing company, we are seeking a talented and experienced Supply Chain Director to join our team remotely and help drive our global supply chain operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and Execute Supply Chain Strategy: Lead the development and implementation of the overall supply chain strategy at company. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align supply chain activities with the company's business objectives and growth plans.
- endor Management: Manage relationships with contract manufacturers and third-party logistics (3PL) providers. Ensure smooth collaboration, timely communication, and adherence to quality and delivery standards. Continuously evaluate vendor performance and make recommendations for improvements.
- Inventory Planning and Management: Develop inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels while minimizing carrying costs and stockouts. Forecast demand, monitor inventory levels, and implement effective replenishment strategies to meet customer demands and maintain healthy stock levels.
- International Freight Management and VAT: oversee international freight operations, including import/export processes, customs compliance, and documentation. Coordinate with freight forwarders and customs brokers to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods across borders.
- Ensure compliance with VAT (Value Added Tax) regulations and tax requirements related to international supply chain operations. Work closely with finance and legal teams to ensure accurate reporting and timely payment of taxes.
- Continuous Improvement and Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement within the supply chain. Implement best practices, drive operational efficiency, and streamline workflows to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and mitigate risks. Design and implement operating procedures that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Supplier Visits: Travel quarterly to visit suppliers and manufacturing partners to build and maintain strong relationships. Conduct supplier audits, evaluate production capabilities, and ensure compliance with company’s quality standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, marketing, and sales teams, to align supply chain activities with overall business objectives. Foster a culture of collaboration and information sharing across departments.
- Work Schedule: Align work hours with the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone and occasionally accommodate European time zones for international collaboration and communication.
- Beverage Industry Experience: Demonstrate a solid understanding of the beverage industry, including knowledge of regulations, packaging requirements, and distribution challenges specific to beverages.
- Amazon Seller Central: Utilize experience with Amazon Seller Central to manage company’s presence on the platform. Coordinate inventory replenishment, optimize product listings, and ensure smooth order fulfillment for customers.
- Supply Chain Data Analytics and Reporting: Foster a culture of data analytics within the supply chain team. Develop and implement reporting capabilities to track and analyze key supply chain metrics. Utilize data-driven insights to drive decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (7+ years) in supply chain management, preferably in a startup environment and food and beverage industry
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience in vendor management, specifically contract manufacturers and 3PL providers.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of VAT regulations and international freight operations.
- Proficient in using supply chain management software and tools
- Self-starter with a solutions-driven mindset, capable of identifying and resolving complex supply chain challenges.
- Foster a culture of data analytics, with the ability to develop reporting capabilities and utilize data insights.
