Position Title: Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries

Reports To: Pastor

Hours: Full-time; Evenings and Weekends Required

Summary:

This position will conceive, develop, execute, and continually develop programs for our Middle School, High School, and Young Adult age groups. Candidate(s) will effectively engage teens, young adults, and their parents to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ. Effective candidates will work with and collaborate with other members of parish staff and parishes in the surrounding area.

Requirements:

Candidate must be a practicing Roman Catholic with great communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with fellow staff members and volunteers. Candidate will be required to establish core teams for each program and empower them to also minister to young people/their peers.

The successful candidate will be an active and practicing Roman Catholic with a vibrant and inviting personal and communal faith expression. (S)he should have good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a dedicated and energetic pastoral staff as well as the targeted groups mentioned above. A working knowledge of Information Technology (IT) and Social Media is recommended. The Cleveland Diocesan job description for youth and young adult ministers is incorporated by reference herein. The position is responsible for but not limited to; " Faith formation " Relationship Building " Youth and Young Adult Catechesis " Recruitment and formation of volunteers " Integration of the youth into the full liturgical; missional and evangelical life of the parish community.

The ideal qualifications include experience in youth and young adult ministry. An earned Bachelor's degree in youth ministry, religious studies, catechesis, theology, or relevant combination of experience and education is desired.
