Adult And Youth Sports Director

General Function:

Under the supervision of the E.D., the Youth & Sports Director will create, supervise and provide enriched, value-based programs that focus on youth development and sports. Additionally, this individual will oversee various programs such as Family Nights, SK Fundraising and events, BTS/Teen Night, and specific adult activities. Support CW/YC Coordinator with KNO, CW/YC and Camp Wee Discover.

• Three or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
• Have extensive hands-on experience working with youth, teens, and adults.
• Proven record of accomplishment in developing authentic relationships with staff.

• Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with parents and community organizations.

Specific Duties:

• Develop and work with the constraints of an annual operating budget-react to enrollment trends. Ensure that payroll is accurate and within budget.
• Coordinate all uses of two gymnasiums. Work jointly with staff to coordinate schedules for turf & lounge.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to direct reports.
• Conduct staff meetings/trainings for your department in order to maintain positive communication, provide curriculum resources and promote new ideas for programs. Meet minimum 2x per program session.
• Staff all gym slots and program areas.
• Attend and support all YMCA wide events. Exemplify the Core Values of the YMCA in all interactions.
• Keep up to date with research/data and trends, as it relates to your program focus.
• During summer months, assist Camp Wee Discover by taking on role as Sports Director.
• Work with Marketing Department to create designated schedules and marketing materials.
• Oversee Gymnasium/Sports and specialty (non-aquatic) birthday parties.
• Develop and oversee all branch non-aquatics-preschool, youth & teen programs - like basketball, soccer, karate, and gymnastics, dance, BTS/Teen Night, Kids Night Out etc. with CW/YC Coordinator when needed.
• Assume responsibility for personal professional developement.
• Coordinate all adult (basketball, pickle ball, volleyball etc.) sports programs, activities, and schedules. year.
• Attend YMCA management staff meetings as required.
• All duties as requested by E.D., COO, and/or CEO.
• Be responsible for hiring, training and development of sports staff.
• Order/maintain program equipment and supplies for activities, gymnasium and all related programs.
