Job Description

What We Are Looking For

Baylor University's Division of Student Life is seeking a high performing, high capacity individual to serve as Director of Student Activities. The selected individual will excel at providing visionary leadership to the department, and passionately represent the department's work to external stakeholders. To succeed in this role, you must have a passion for Baylor's mission and student body and be able to effectively communicate to and demonstrate an appreciation of Baylor's diverse student population.

A Master's degree, four years of relevant work experience, and an active Christian faith are required. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

  • Work on special projects as assigned and assist with coordination of special events
  • Collaborate with internal and external constituents and students to foster integration
  • Assist Baylor faculty and students on a broad scope of issues related to academic integrity
  • Oversee the establishment of opportunities for students to develop their leadership knowledge and skills
  • Provide overall direction and administrative leadership
  • Exhibit an appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty and staff of many social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial and ethnic backgrounds
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
  • Serve as a consultant to students and student organizations
  • Interact with students, student organizations, alumni, faculty, staff and community leaders representing the University and Division of Student Life
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Hire, train, supervise and evaluate staff and report on assigned areas of responsibility
  • Develop and oversee departmental budget, assessment and strategic operational Planning
