Job Description
Summary
The Director of Services (DS) acts as the direct leader for consultants at Core BTS. The DS will work with Practice leadership to ensure that consultants have the necessary skills to deliver quality solutions for our clients. The DS provides consultants with coaching and guidance on their career development for ongoing growth and engagement. The DS is an advocate for the consultant to foster connections within the company and align project assignments with their skillset, experience, and career goals when possible. The DS ensures their team members are aligned to the organization’s values and ongoing strategy.
Role Responsibilities
  • Leverage Principals for guidance on technical development needs or technical escalations
  • Work with Operations and Delivery leadership to make sure client and project needs are met
  • Identify needs/motivators for consultants to ensure ongoing engagement
  • Participate in the Talent Acquisition process to hire new consultant team members
  • Collaborate with Delivery leadership in a matrix organization to monitor and manage consultant engagement and performance
  • Provide support and be a single point of contact for all needs
  • Ensure consultants have visibility to/understand organizational initiatives
  • Develop efficient and effective processes collaborating with leaders across the organization
  • Develop future leaders of the organization
  • Provide guidance to enable skill acquisition or development
  • Provide formal leadership for consultant team members including performance feedback, compensation discussions, career development, and approval of time sheets and time off requests
  • Develop consulting skills and provide career mentoring
  • Conduct regular touchpoints to gather feedback, and provide feedback
  • Processes include professional development, resourcing, mentoring, promotion, etc.
Role Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Required:
  • Ability to collaborate with peers across a matrix organization
  • Minimal travel may be required as driven by organizational needs
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize work efforts
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to overcome difficult challenges and take accountability for actions/results
  • Proven ability to attract, grow, and retain talent
  • In lieu of degree, 10 years’ experience managing and leading large teams
  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen
  • Strong conflict management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or other similar/related discipline
  • Ability to lead a large group of people. Strong interpersonal and team-building skills with an ability to work collaboratively within a team
Preferred:
  • 5+ years of experience leading a team of consultants
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical consulting and/or project management role
