Purpose of Position
To provide the oversight of the SMP Central Business Office and will provide business office operations consultation and compliance auditing to SMP centers. Duties include scheduling staff to meet work demands and serve as a liaison between surgery centers and corporate CBO staff. The Vice President of Revenue Cycle & Managed Care Contracting will also analyze, evaluate, and report Accounts Receivable Summaries on each facility to Operations as needed.
Job Duties
- Prepare weekly performance reports for the centers and operations staff.
- Perform audit services and Business Office assessments as requested.
- Demonstrated knowledge of managed care lines of business, including Medicare, state Medicaid and Commercial HMO
- Establish job description and position performance criteria.
- Oversee Managed Care Contracting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of reimbursement methodologies.
- Manage/supervise CBO accounts receivable, including cash balances and weekly aging analysis.
- Ensure policies and procedures are in place, consistently reviewed, updated and communicated to all appropriate staff/client staff.
- Ensure that all CBO personnel are following the SMP Accounting Policies and Procedures.
- Acts as an expert and support to SMP client sites and staff members
- Provide recommendations to SMP officers and facility administrators regarding coordination requirements of the CBO.
- Ensures completion of client site EOM reporting.
- Assist start-up team when requested in converting centers acquired and developed to CBO.
- Update Policies and Procedures as necessary.
- ·Maintain expert level knowledge of respective areas, specifically as it applies to client sites and changes in healthcare models and standards that affect the same.
- Ensure all centers are following SMP Accounting Policies and Procedures.
- Train new business office managers according to corporate office training and performance guidelines.
Education/Work Experience Requirement
A bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or business Administration or related discipline and/or equivalent experience in healthcare surgery center or Hospital revenue cycle, reimbursement and managed care contracting. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a leadership/management role, managing business office operations with specific experience in a centralized business office for ambulatory surgery center or Hospital billing and A/R management.
