As the Director of Rooms, your engaging personality and strategic vision will make a lasting impact of the Guest Experience at Fairmont Century Plaza, creating loyalty for guests and colleagues alike. The Director of Rooms is responsible for ensuring the entire Rooms operation is running smoothly for our guests. You have a strong attention to detail and have the ability to work with and lead your teams to work in a seamless and effortless manner.

What you will be doing:

  • Follow all safety policies
  • Direct Report to the Hotel Manager
  • Develop and implement trainings & SOP’s to align with Accor and Fairmont Service Standards for all new and existing colleagues to positively improve results in Guest Satisfaction (VOG), Compliance with Brand Standards (LQA), Employee Engagement (EES) and Guest Loyalty (ALL)
  • Prepare annual budgets and administer in a fiscally responsible manner
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
  • Manage third party relationships related to the Rooms Division (i.e Valet)
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual strategic plan and achieve the goals and targets therein
  • Oversee group business, reviewing and ensuring details of group resumes are met
  • Active participation with the Commercial Team to increasing RevPAR index within the competitive set
  • Control all purchases for the department, consistently aware of quality and cost
  • Lead and support all areas in the achievement of their colleague, guest and financial targets
  • Oversee the selection, training and development of all Rooms Leaders & Colleagues to ensure timely recruitment and career growth
  • Lead and manage the day to day operations of Front Office, Guest Services, Concierge, Housekeeping, Fairmont Gold and Royal Service ensuring all service standards are followed, ensuring exceptional guest service is provided as well as overall cleanliness of rooms and common areas

Qualifications


Your experience and skills include:

  • Ability to build strong relationships, interact and influence others at all levels of the organization
  • Forbes 5 Star experience would be a plus
  • Computer literacy a must, with a strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Self-confident, proactive, and able to prioritize and make effective decisions
  • Proven record to coordinate multiple departments to make gains towards targeted GSI, GOP, EEI results
  • 4+ years experience in a similar Senior Leadership role at a Luxury 5-Star city hotel environment
  • Progressive Leadership experiences
  • Proficiency with PMS and hotel operating systems
  • University/College degree in related discipline would be a plus
