Director of Rooms – The Langham, Boston

The Langham, Boston has undergone a complete transformation and reopened its doors in June 2021 as the city’s most historic hotel and one of the most iconic luxury hotels in the US. You will be leading a passionate & talented Rooms division to drive excellence in guest satisfaction and the overall success of the hotel, by delivering high standards in guest experience & colleague engagement in alignment with the culture and values of Langham Hospitality Group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and ensure adherence to all Langham Five Star Service Standards.
• Manage and motivate all Rooms Division managers with daily supervision to include staffing, training, discipline, scheduling, performance and adherence to all service and productivity standards to provide exceptional guest experiences.
• Mentor and develop managers to identify career paths and support growth.
• Assist in the development of new programs, which result in an increased level of guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
• Organize and conduct department meetings in order to develop, direct and maintain consistent service levels within the Rooms Division.
• Monitor labor expenses through schedule approval process and ensure budgeted productivity.
• Maintain compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with the Director of Revenue Management on available rooms inventory.
• Work closely with Valet Manager to ensure valet operations are meeting Langham expectations.
• Participate in ROME meeting strategies in order to maximize overall revenues.
• Communicate with guests and colleagues, both verbally and written and provide clear direction.
• Participate in developing and overseeing all departmental budgets, forecasts and operating expenses.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in hotel management operations required.
• Strong knowledge of Opera systems
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Bachelors Degree preferred
• Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills required.
• Previous experience with five star service standards
• Thorough knowledge of all Rooms Division departments as well as individual job requirements.
• Previous experience as a Division Head in the hospitality industry
