Director of Rooms – The Langham, Boston
Langham Hospitality Group (LHG) is a global hotel company with properties located in major cities and four continents under The Langham Hotels and Resorts and Cordis Hotels and Resorts brands. It is the hospitality arm of Great Eagle Holdings, a leading property development company in Hong Kong.
The Langham, Boston has undergone a complete transformation and reopened its doors in June 2021 as the city’s most historic hotel and one of the most iconic luxury hotels in the US. You will be leading a passionate & talented Rooms division to drive excellence in guest satisfaction and the overall success of the hotel, by delivering high standards in guest experience & colleague engagement in alignment with the culture and values of Langham Hospitality Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and ensure adherence to all Langham Five Star Service Standards.
- Manage and motivate all Rooms Division managers with daily supervision to include staffing, training, discipline, scheduling, performance and adherence to all service and productivity standards to provide exceptional guest experiences.
- Mentor and develop managers to identify career paths and support growth.
- Assist in the development of new programs, which result in an increased level of guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Organize and conduct department meetings in order to develop, direct and maintain consistent service levels within the Rooms Division.
- Monitor labor expenses through schedule approval process and ensure budgeted productivity.
- Maintain compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with the Director of Revenue Management on available rooms inventory.
- Work closely with Valet Manager to ensure valet operations are meeting Langham expectations.
- Participate in ROME meeting strategies in order to maximize overall revenues.
- Communicate with guests and colleagues, both verbally and written and provide clear direction.
- Participate in developing and overseeing all departmental budgets, forecasts and operating expenses.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in hotel management operations required.
- Strong knowledge of Opera systems
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills required.
- Previous experience with five star service standards
- Thorough knowledge of all Rooms Division departments as well as individual job requirements.
- Previous experience as a Division Head in the hospitality industry
