The Director of Product Management will drive strategy of our Bioprocess equipment and Digital Solutions portfolio for Kynota. The ideal candidate is someone who puts customers first, drives teamwork to win, and leads change with a clear vision and value to the business.


This role drives business growth by acquiring critical market and client insights; crafting business cases; strategy development; defining the roadmaps; launching new offerings; and integrating multiple service offerings across business units to build outstanding value for our clients. The position requires significant thought leadership, strategic marketing skills, and the capability to influence across various functions/roles. In this position, you will be viewed as a skilled professional with a proven understanding of the responsible business units' market, client, competition, and service offerings.


Key Responsibilities


  • Identify products, technologies, and capabilities needed to advance market position; perform make/buy/partner analyses to identify investment priorities and recommend investments to the leadership team
  • Analyze, interpret, and report out monthly management reports in regard to product sales activity to budget, programs, market and channel trends and competition
  • Define a vision for market growth and design strategies to actively pursue new market opportunities for our product portfolio
  • Responsible for meeting annual goals for revenue and gross margin for the product line
  • Lead product management related activities and champion cross-functional activities to enhance overall product line performance including revenue growth, margin improvement, cost reduction, quality and delivery
  • Initiate and lead through direct staff members, research and development programs, product management, customer service / project management, and quality for the product line
  • As this is a new team, this role will initially also be responsible for typical product management responsibilities until those can be appropriately delegated
  • Have the managerial and leadership competencies to build and lead an impactful team with the personal drive and ambition to deliver outstanding results
  • Lead the product life-cycle management through cross-functional, direct and matrix team leadership (including Marketing, Operations, R&D, Finance, Quality, Service, Supply Chain & HR)
  • You will be collaborating with functional leaders across the organization to define long term product roadmaps and deliver best-in-class experiences to our customers and exceed the Business Unit’s revenue and margin growth objectives
  • Develop value proposition across full products and technologies
  • Drive product life cycle and technology development roadmap for future investments linked to customer needs
  • Provide innovative leadership, direction and development opportunities to the product management group and strengthen long term talent pipeline
  • Assess competitive landscape, market segment growth potential and own the annual strategic planning process in alignment with broader company strategy and business processes


Education


  • A bachelor of Science degree in related life science or engineering field is required (biology, biochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering)
  • MBA is strongly preferred


Experience


  • 5+ years of strategic marketing, product management, or product development experience in a pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical device, or life science environment
  • Technical knowledge of biologics preferred
  • Technical knowledge of CDMO, pharmaceutical development, or life sciences market
  • Experience in developing and implementing long-range product roadmaps

  • Has succeeded in cross-functional, matrix organizations with minimal direction.
