Founded in the 1970's, my client is a privately owned & operated leader in the nutrition space - manufacturing a multitude of vitamins, protein bars and more within the health space. They develop and manufacture each of their products in a 100% sustainable way; using solar power, zero carbon footprint, in an eco-friendly and award-winning facility. The are rapidly growing and looking for their next leader of procurement to help them reach the next level!

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESManagement
  • Provide effective leadership and direct the work of subordinates; carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the corporate policies and applicable laws.
  • Develop budget.
  • Oversight of department's corporate meeting involvement.
  • Generate protocols and ensure adherence; devise plan for future action.
  • Accomplish department goals by managing staff, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring progress.
  • Department Administration
  • Contribute to and support the corporate quality initiatives by planning, communicating and encouraging team and individual contributions toward quality-improvement efforts.
Procurement/Purchasing
  • Provide effective leadership and directs the work of subordinates
  • Reporting to CEO and maintaining abreast of the global supply chain for all of our materials.
  • Initiate and manage supply agreements where indicated.
  • Manage and review all purchases and contract negotiations completed by the Purchasing team.
  • Contribute to a working environment that allows all employees equal opportunities for development, growth, and advancement.
  • Contribute to and support the corporation's quality initiatives by planning, communicating, and encouraging team and individual contributions toward the corporation's quality improvement efforts.
  • Responsible for quality and continuous improvement within the job scope. Evaluating, motivating, and coaching staff, vendors/ suppliers using clear performance measures.
  • Forecast long-term material requirements beyond what is shown in MRP (Material Requirements Planning).
  • Oversee the sourcing of all materials, equipment, supplies and services to all areas of the company.
  • Understand and communicate market factors affecting price and availability of essential materials to CEO and CFO.
  • Direct, develop and maintain all vendor relationships. Ensure new accounts are created consistent with Accounting Department requirements.
  • Work with Quality Control Department to assure vendor compliance with ProCaps specifications. Ensure returns are processed in a compliant manner.
Ad-Hoc Projects
  • Assist CEO on various projects, as assigned.
  • Contributes to a working environment that allows all employees the opportunity for development, growth, and advancement. Conducts business in compliance with the corporation's Code of Business Conduct.

The Successful Applicant
  • Proficient in MS Office and MRP software.
  • Tenacious attitude and a strong will to execute and get the job done.
  • Capability to re-adjust and re-prioritize goals to meet the ever-changing demands of the projects at hand.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Operations Management or a related field is required; related certification, training and/or extensive experience may be considered in lieu of a relevant degree
  • Working knowledge of computers and aptitude to learn new programs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiating/contracting skills.
  • Minimum 10 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment within the health & wellness space ideally
  • Knowledge of industry suppliers, products, and manufacturing capabilities are required
