Job Description
3001 Hadley RdSuite B, South Plainfield, New Jersey, 07080, United States of America

Do you want to be personally and professionally fulfilled by helping provide life-saving treatments to thousands of patients? DaVita is in search of a Director of Operations to lead our teams and hospital contracts in New Jersey.

The name DaVita is an adaptation of an Italian phrase meaning, “giving life.” Every day, in all of our clinics and hospital partner sites, we believe our name reflects our purpose. We often say that we are a community first and a company second. Our teammates work together to serve more than 200,000 patients through DaVita Kidney Care and other health care services. We define our culture as The DaVita Way.

The DaVita Way means that we dedicate our Head, Heart and Hands to pursue the Mission, live the Values and build a healthy Village. It means that we care for each other with the same intensity with which we care for our patients. We believe that by caring for each other we can improve health care, grow leaders and make a real difference in the communities we serve.

The Region You’d Lead:

This Director of Operations role covers New Jersey and will report directly to the Division Vice President. In this role, you will be joining the senior leadership team of highly motivated individuals consisting of former nurse leaders, consultants, military leaders, and healthcare executives.

The Role You'd Play as a Director of Operations:

We are seeking an ambitious, operationally-focused and results-driven Leader for our Hospital Services Team. Covering New Jersey, you will drive all aspects of the Operating business in a way that honors our seven Core Values. Some specific examples include:

Team Leadership:

  • Lead team consisting of hospital services administrators, RNs, patient care technicians and administrative support staff to strive for the nation's leading clinical outcomes, continuously improving year after year. Approximately 4-5 direct reports, 150+ indirect reports.
  • Lead and focus on total team development and engagement, from managerial to direct clinical roles. Your direct reports and front line clinical staff will aspire to join you in the quest to ensure quality and compliant patient care.

Creating a Special Place:

  • Work at a company that honors its Core Values. What are our 7 Core Values, you ask? They are: Service Excellence, Integrity, Team, Continuous Improvement, Accountability, Fulfillment and Fun.
  • Lead a growing, socially responsible business that strives to be the role model for American Healthcare
  • Thrive in a company that will challenge you to "Get Stuff Done" and reward you with incentives the right way - top performers earn more.
  • Work at a place that acts more like a community than a company

Operational Excellence and Profitability:

  • Develop and implement strategic planning initiatives that maximize the region’s clinical care and growth potential
  • Managing relationships and dialysis delivery across hospital partner sites across New Jersey.
  • Complete accountability for up to $50M P&L
  • Drive accountability for the team
  • Managing labor costs

Growth Mindset:

  • Address top growth priorities, provide due diligence and lead successful operational conversions on acquisitions
  • Program development

Experience required for this role:

Multi-site team leadership: You have a proven track record of leading leaders who then turn around and lead their teams across a geography. You’ve successfully turned around and impacted your team’s culture and have coached your leaders into stronger, more agile operators.

Strategy: You’ve successfully developed strategies around growth and operational problem solving. Partnerships and influence are a part of your leadership tool set.

Financial Stewardship: Prior P&L management will greatly help you achieve success in this role. You’ll be deep diving into financial details, looking at labor hours, capital expenses, and getting comfortable with numbers and small boxes (Excel is great!).

Performance Management: You love KPIs and have already been successful in mobilizing resources to impact the team’s performance. You love a good root-cause analysis and flow chart, and you use these things to track your team’s success in achieving the goal.

Required qualifications:

  • Availability for regional and some national travel; up to 40%
  • P&L Accountability
  • Thrive in a company that will challenge you to "Get Stuff Done" and reward you with incentives the right way - top performers earn more.
  • Multi-site operations leadership, healthcare experience preferred
  • Alignment with our core values and ability to lead through: Service Excellence, Integrity, Team, Continuous Improvement, Accountability, Fulfillment and Fun.
  • Masters strongly preferred, Bachelor’s degree required

Here is what you can expect when you join our Village:

  • A comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance your health, your financial well-being and your future.
  • A "community first, company second" culture based on Core Values that really matter.
  • Dedication, above all, to caring for patients suffering from chronic kidney failure across the nation.
  • Clinical outcomes consistently ranked above the national average.
  • Award-winning education and training across multiple career paths to help you reach your potential.

Join us as we pursue our vision "To Build the Greatest Healthcare Community the World has Ever Seen."

Our investment in you

Our new teammates receive comprehensive training on how DaVita’s dialysis clinics and hospital partnerships operate. You’ll also receive opportunities to partner alongside innovative, compassionate and driven leads as well as access to a comprehensive total rewards package.

Are you ready to transform health care with us?

Full vaccination against COVID-19, which may include a booster when eligible, or a medical/religious exemption is required. Teammates with a medical/religious exemption may need to submit to weekly COVID-19 testing.

What We’ll Provide:

More than just pay, our DaVita Rewards package connects teammates to what matters most. Teammates are eligible to begin receiving benefits on the first day of the month following or coinciding with one month of continuous employment. Below are some of our benefit offerings.

  • Comprehensive benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid time off, PTO cash out

At DaVita, we strive to be a community first and a company second. We want all teammates to experience DaVita as "a place where I belong." Our goal is to embed Diversity & Belonging into everything we do in our Village, so that it becomes part of who we are. We are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and an affirmative action employer. As such, individuals are recruited, hired, assigned and promoted without regard to race, national origin, religion, age, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.

Salary/ Wage Range

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown. DaVita offers a competitive total rewards package, which includes a 401k match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of other benefits. Learn more at https://careers.davita.com/benefits
