Job Description

The Director of Marketing and Brand Experience is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing strategy for Sturdy Health resulting in positive brand recognition, audience engagement and service line growth through traditional and digital channels. The Director is an experienced, analytical and creative marketer who can flex comfortably between strategy and execution, engaging both our internal and external audiences, with the ultimate goal of driving significant growth, positive recognition and reputation of the health system.


Working closely with the VP and Chief Strategy Officer, the Director is responsible for leading all marketing, advertising and branding efforts, managing all digital channels and production of all publications, including annual reports, Community Health Needs Assessment and promotional materials. The Director works collaboratively with other leadership team members to ensure alignment and brand resonance in messaging and reputation management to ensure all communications and presentations positively reflect the Sturdy Health brand, mission, vision and values. The Director leads implementation of marketing initiatives, embracing and strengthening Sturdy Health’s image to attract and retain patients, physicians and team members.

  • Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, geo fencing and other digital marketing/advertising tools.

  • Lead the development and operation of a progressive, user experience focused website
  • Ability to positively, accurately and professionally represent Sturdy Health and its brand in all forums.
  • Demonstrated experience with website and marketing analytics tools, such as Google Analytics.
  • Develop and amplify reporting and analytics to track campaign and channel performance.
  • Demonstrated experience using marketing automation platforms, such as HubSpot.
  • Advanced knowledge of current and emerging marketing trends and practices for the healthcare space.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and branding strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively and positively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of market dynamics, current marketing/communications principles for digital and traditional communication forums.
  • Implement, and evaluate integrated brand initiatives and marketing plans in support of the organization's affiliation strategies in collaboration with the Chief Strategy Officer.
  • Demonstrated experience in digital brand management and effective campaign management
  • Leverage digital and traditional marketing channels resulting in increased brand recognition and loyalty (website, CRM, SEO/SEM).
  • Exemplary communication skills (written and verbal), with experience in editorial judgment, branded content understanding, experience and technical skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare and digital marketing.
  • Develop and manage multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating positive relationships with print, television and social/digital media decision makers and influences.
  • Stay current on consumer trends, perform market analysis/research and marketing best practices.
  • Represent the voice of the consumer to inform business, marketing, and brand strategy.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to manage, synthesize and distill marketing research, performance analytics and business intelligence to ensure transparency and effective use of resources against marketing objectives.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations or a related field is required.
  • Surface up-to-date and engaging content, both internally and externally, and create collateral that drives audience engagement and interest across all channels.
  • Develop and executive physician/provider marketing campaigns, including scheduling off site engagements to generate strong referral pipelines.
  • Facilitates the completion of triannual Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), including production and annual implementation planning, reporting and execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to write creative, concise, strategically cogent, and persuasive communications.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently, yet collaborative.
  • Manage and oversee direct reports and external vendors responsible for the day-to-day execution and optimization of system-wide marketing.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and plan activities efficiently and effectively.
  • Serve as Sturdy Health’s brand guardian to ensure message and brand representation consistency across all communication platforms.
  • Uses marketing technology including database marketing, customer relationship management (CRM), and marketing automation to drive growth and manage brand reputation.
  • Develop and execute digital media campaigns resulting in strong audience activation and connecting to the health system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, as well as desk top publishing software
  • Experience working with website content management systems and other digital platforms.
  • Partner positively, effectively and efficiently across the health system to build brand equity and implement priority marketing initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, trusted-based relationships with stakeholders, collaborators and direct reports.
  • Collaborate with Brand Experience colleagues on shared goals for growth, reputation, and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement digital communications.
  • Employ advanced marketing concepts to develop and evaluate collaborative marketing plans, implement tactics in support of well-defined goals, and measure/report on performance, including ROI.
  • Develop and manage marketing campaigns, including any vendor partner relationships, to deliver maximum audience engagement.
