We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Logistics to lead and manage our company's end-to-end logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of optimizing supply chain processes, rationalizing costs, and ensuring the efficient movement of goods from the Company’s manufacturing facility to customers. The Director of Logistics will be responsible for developing and executing logistics strategies, overseeing and tracking a team of professionals, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall operational efficiency.


Responsibilities:


  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations and regularly report on performance to senior management
  • Team Leadership:
  • Stay current with industry regulations, trade compliance, and transportation laws to ensure full adherence and minimize risk
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback to ensure team success
  • Develop, track, and report a comprehensive set of Key Performance Indicators tied to team’s planned goals
  • Performance Metrics and Reporting:
  • Oversee the flow of finished products from the cultivation and manufacturing sites to the distribution locations
  • Develop data analytics to forecast demand, monitor inventory turnover, and make informed decisions
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Create an inventory management plan Implement effective inventory management practices to optimize stock levels, minimize carrying costs, and prevent stockouts
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify process inefficiencies and lead initiatives to enhance operational processes, systems, and technologies
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving regulations and ensure all logistics activities are conducted in accordance with legal requirements
  • Drive innovation and seek out opportunities to implement best practices within the logistics function
  • Establish and maintain protocols for secure transportation, labeling, and tracking of products
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve overall supply chain efficiency
  • Lead efforts to ensure compliance with international shipping standards and customs regulations
  • Foster a culture of compliance, safety, and continuous improvement within the logistics department
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of logistics professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment
  • Compliance and Regulations:
  • Inventory Control (once regulation allows):
  • Develop and Implement Logistics Strategy:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive logistics strategy, focusing on efficiency, compliance, and security
  • Analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for operational improvement
Qualifications


  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven mindset
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Proficiency in using logistics management software, Microsoft Excel and tools
  • Proven experience (4+ years) in a leadership role within logistics and supply chain management
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and make informed decisions supported by data and analysis
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, transportation, warehousing, and inventory management
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners
